Its too bad I have Desterio, ElOchoCinco, Contra, Attickus, Drownproof, Schmidt, Riskarb.... all on ignore. They... (ie Desterio)... could PM me and we could all work on one of his.... (as his Ocho persona).... a kitty meme together.
People's trading statement is private and nobody is too keen on sharing them with strangers and even those that do, one would never know the authenticity of it. If somebody posted a trading statement with 0 losses are you going to believe that person? The thing is this is a discussion forum and not a public flogging site. If one doesn't agree with someone, one just comes out and say "I disagree and here is the reason why..." and that's it. It's not up to anybody to publicly ridicule or shame somebody just because they disagree with another person's statement. Everybody makes mistakes and nobody here is infallible or invincible. But by discussing and debating something in a constructive manner, everybody ends up learning something new and useful. That should be the goal of a public discussion forum.
You're probably right about this. But you know what, if I was raking it in like him, I would be an asshole too. I would only come to ET to spread a bit of wisdom and say and do whatever the fuck I pleased. Honestly, to me, destriero is acting exactly how a profitable trader would act. The losers who bitch and cry about name calling and refuse to show any trades because of some bullshit reason act exactly how they do because they can't back anything up. When someone says "put up or shut up", its only the losers who go blah blah blah. The winners provide a peephole into their world to gain the justified notoriety.
This is an interesting piece of information. If true, its simply incredible. I remember going through old posts and seeing that many people liked what he had to say, but, once again, there was no way to make any judgement about his trading ability, just that he knew how to talk. There was I think one time he made an NQ call, and his exit was shared something like 10 hours after the fact or something ridiculous like this. All I see over and over again now is that the posters who can talk but don't post any trades are turning out to be big fakes.
I agree with that idea. Trading account statements are 1) too personal (for those who post legitimate ones) and 2) can easily be and often are faked. A "Paper trade dashboard" with NO editing after posting is allowed for live calls WITH explanation to be made to security instruments being traded in a central place for all to see is a great idea. There are trading journals posted by individuals but there are too numerous to keep track off and they are not in a central one place to be easily tracked.
IMHO, one of the best ways to learn to do is to discuss things that gone wrong. Nothing teaches better than a good fuckup.
NOT TRUE. First of all, we are still having trouble authenticating the fact that he's "raking it in" considering that the last "statement" he's posted is from Feb. 1, 2005 and is marked with words "MARGIN CALL". I stand to be corrected that that's a statement issued usually when somebody's account has lost tremendous amount of funds to the point it's not enough to cover the margin loaned to him/her. Second just because one is successful in trading, that does NOT give somebody the license to act in a rude and disrespectful manner towards another person. Acting as an a**hole is NOT how a profitable trader would or does act. And quite the opposite, I would say majority of the profitable traders actually act very humbly unless they achieved their profit through fraud, scam or simply made up their "profitable" illusion because REAL profitable traders appreciate the struggle and the hardship that they've gone through to have achieved these consistent profit.
JSOP, are you employed in the industry? Have you ever been? Humble is an adjective not often applied to successful traders. Asshole, on the other hand... Besides, how does calling out fake (Xela) or batshit crazy (Handle123) constitute being an asshole?
A great way to prove if you can trade or not is to post your strategy. Others can then see whether it's workable or not.
