I bet he’s the guy who stole your shopping cart. You should get that back. You're going to need it.

ho ho ho... since people don’t believe I exist, let me state my opinion for the record :D

I don’t have a horse in this race and not going to take sides. However, i used to come here for a civil discussion about the markets/ideas and one can not deny that it’s going downhill. This is not a trading floor and most of us have no real money riding on these discussions, so keeping it grownup should be possible, no?

I don’t have an issue with users exaggerating their achievements as long as the “material content” is not misleading or damaging. Everyone is a Chuck Norris on the internet, I am sure I have posted something along those lines myself (it would be interesting to go back and see what it is, honestly). It’s only unacceptable if you are try to sell something.

Lastly, in terms of posting live calls/trades. Do people really think it has value?

I prefer to think of it as experiencing contrast. Knowing what one doesn’t want leads to knowing more of what one does want.

It’s no secret that one gets what they focus upon.

Unfortunately for those stuck on the broken record of ‘prove it’ only want to see the dependent variable and not open their minds to the independent variable.

To spell it out, the independent variable is one own mentality and the path they took to build their minds to see greater and greater distinctions much like improving one’s vocabulary in a foreign language.

“How one does anything is how one does everything” is applicable here. Being anything but polite, respectful and kind when attempting to solicit information from someone is counterproductive and self-damaging.

Assholes generally know they are assholes for that’s the function they fulfill. If someone is being an asshole that doesn’t identify with it, upon feedback, they can quickly readjust and calibrate to not being an asshole. In one case lies bondage in the other freedom.

The ignore feature is quite useful and has transformed my experience of this site. After one or two attempts at communicating with someone, it’s easy to discern if any more energy in that direction will be received in good faith or bad.

‘What about being defamed and not being able to defend oneself?”

In my experience, we only defend what is weak. No defense is necessary to a broken record. A broken record just plays the self-righteous blame game. Stuck in a recursive cycle of suffering, all they can do is lash out and perpetuate the chain of pain.

At some point as one experiences the satisfaction of success derived from there own diligence is that of realizing the most valuable commodity of all is time.

I was once a broken record in many areas of my life. It wasn’t until I had an insight in that I was the creator of my own experience and that the world is a mirror.

Whatever I looked for I found, dark and light. I attracted and perpetuated the circumstances of my complaints.

Until one realizes they are their own key, not much to see.

So why would one not use ignore?

You've reduced ET to it's Pol-forum. Well, I suppose that's where all the action is.

Not really, right? We used to have fairly grownup conversations in the Options forum and the Automated Trading forum. That seems to be over, unless these chats moved elsewhere

Not to be misunderstood; meaning that the only action is in the Political forum.

I asked her to explain how FX volume is in any way meaningful. She folded. The spotlight burns. It's all decorum until someone asks something concrete. There is no need for another "don't be undercapitalized" post akin to Beowulf. I am not in Europe now so I have a lot more time on my hands, which is probably a bad thing.

I think it's detrimental to allude to some vaunted career when it's obvious fabrication used to maintain their voyeur pathology. The newb sees "likes" and equates it with skill. I think the problem with fi-boards is the noise related to 101-level BS. The Munchausen shit is just cringey.

Aren't we past MAs? She wouldn't even post the frequency. IKR? It's not me to judge... if not me, who? If not now, when? ah hahaha.

I didn't drive her off. She couldn't reconcile her reliance on FX volume in whatever capacity she trades, which I believe to be nil. She tilted and blamed it on cancer-causing aliens.

There were a dozen or so regulars that kept a fairly high standard of content. They're gone or using new nicks to avoid NDAs. ;)

Indeed. Since I don't go there I guess I am missing out on all of the intellectual banter :)

Personally, I think it's all a part of the entertainment here. No real benefit to being harsh if you don't believe someone (except, as I said, if they are trying to sell something), it just causes more confrontation and reduces the quality of experience. There is definitely no reason to go out of our way to discover the truth (maybe in reality I am a Nigerian Prince. Anyone?).

I have no idea what you are talking about. "Prank call, prank call"

Its actually truly the only way to find out who has any credibility. I have gone through enough threads to see that posters who, based on their posting, appeared to know their stuff, fail miserably when it came to making calls.

Let's see, there is classic surf with his shorts in the YM. Then there was propwarrior who also made some spectacular failure calls. Then there was another guy, gosh, I forget his name, but he was shorting at every round number in the ES last year. And these are just off the top of my head. So you see, when you take a guy who spends months discussing trading, and sounds really smart, and then all he can show is how he shorts, holds through deep losses, doubles down, etc., well, it greatly changes the meaning of everything else he has posted.

When the insults and personal attacks don't work, you resort to pure fiction, too? Now you're just flat out lying. She's never mentioned cancer, but has made many posts saying that she hasn't traded forex for years.
