People lie to belong...then they lie even more when confronted. They go from insecure and delusional to insecure, delusional and now scared...seen it a thousand times. Has any of your kids ever lied, but wouldn't confess no matter how much evidence was against them? With these internet scumbags now being exposed, it takes their fantasy away and humiliates them in front of everyone...even though none of us know who they really are!LOL My point on this, they will probably keep lying even if it means going down with the ship.
I hear you. I do appreciate that a few guys like destriero and you do it (and/or have done it), to show that it's possible. I first heard about you guys here and read both of your stuff on the old fattails forum also. Without that being done, I'm not sure I'd take trading seriously as I don't know anyone personally who does it with any success. Not only that, guys like you and dest and a handful of others are the only reason I come to this site. I've been around long enough to smell the bullshit from a mile away on these forums, so I don't even bother to waste any time reading anything from clowns like Xela & Co. I find it hilarious when he calls these people out though, pure entertainment. Who does it better than destriero? Props! But this Xela shit was like... Wtf? He didn't even lace in at all, simple question and he was fried.

When someone is using sock puppets, shills, aliases--does it really matter whether their motivation is financial? Did she get "clients" from those PMs? Are they too embarrassed to come forward?

For me this is the real puzzle about xela's fake persona. I've seen her posts across 3 forums over more than 3 years and never once saw her seeking money. We "liked" each other's posts and dialogued so much that she would have reached out to me for sure if she was after a financial reward. I did even get a PM from her once when we both turned up on a forum after she had stomped off a previous forum: it was just a "hello". This brings me back to the supposition that alex has a personality disorder compelling him to create imaginary people and inhabit their lives. Rather a tragic case.

I think if you are not selling anything then you are indirectly pumping information to guide people towards another product that you indirectly are a part of. Also there is simply the personality disorder of the isolated loser who seeks friendship and acceptance online so they live in that world and lie.
