So what if he is abrasives, he has always been and I have known him for more than 12 years I believe. Does the market coddle your balls before it takes your money or can it be cruel and painful at times. Such is life. This whole place is full of people attacking people, that is what happens on message boards, FB, Twitter, Instagram, etc... Unless it gets really personal or private, which Baron can remove/censure, then it will happen. By the way when Dest is drunk he is actually a shy, introverted person.... People say I am abrasive and rude as well. I am not looking for letters of recommendation here... But if you ask me an honest polite question I will give you a straightforward polite answer. If you sprout B.S. ad nausea then it is a pet peeve of mine...
Impossible to do. If we talk volume, we have the group of people who swear by it, and those who say its useless. We can further break this down by instrument, where for one instrument its completely useless, like spot currencies, and for others, like futures, it all depends on the trader. I've been at this game long enough to know that many things in trading can work, even though some might not know how to use it, and also that nothing works with a very high degree of confidence. So to me, having an argument about what works and what doesn't isn't the right type of argument. Just like some people say that anything below a 1 minute chart is noise, while others feel that every tick is important. About all you can do is ask the person to show how they use whatever it is that they say works, and see if there is any statistically significant edge to what they are saying. For example, with regards to volume, I've seen breakouts on high volume fail, and I've seen breakouts on low volume continue, so volume to me isn't that important. But if someone would show how they use it, I might be impressed, or at the very least concede that it has value for them. But for someone, especially new, its impossible to distinguish signal from the noise. Until someone shows how they apply whatever it is that they are raving about, and shows the results, there really is no way to say what is signal and what is noise.
I agree with you here. Most would not want their IP revealed. Depending on who your provider is, it can give lots of things away. (ie. where you work) But I think something as simple as a script that would show your location, such as state and country and last 3 digits, would help a bit in terms of credibility. Of course using a VPN service will let you pick whatever country you want to be in, but having at least one point of reference, even if its some random place, would still be a big win. I'm sure some posters on here are even too cheap or too poor to pay for a VPN service. LOL Seeing how much attention this thread is getting, I do think its time for Baron to think strongly about implementing some sort of verification procedure. I have no idea what it should look like, or how to balance the issues or privacy with credibility, but something would be better than nothing.
What may work for trader A may not work for trader B and vice versa. The only way to tell if something works for YOU is to try it on, test it out. I can only speak for myself but I've run into more than one blind alley along the way...just part of the learning process. No one can precisely replicate another trade plan without walking in the shoes of that trader. You can spend thousands on seminars and trade courses by successful traders and educators and still benefit nothing.
Exactly. So that's why I say, instead of all these fights about what works and what doesn't, which are pointless since it may work for some and not work for others, its much more productive to say this is what works for me and how I use it and the kinds of results it gives. Granted, most might not want to share like this, but at the very least, those so called experts we have here should be held to some sort of accountability where they should have to demonstrate. This whole thing started with destriero asking xela about volume. If she found it beneficial, she could have thrown up a few charts. Obviously she/he was a fake, but if he didn't "out" her, some poor sucker out there would be thinking her words are useful.
Probably another more aggressive extroverted sociopath will confront those types. You know, it takes one to know one. They either conspire together or the complete opposite...take each other down...in my opinion. This is just a simple answer...there's more to it, of course. Let me know if I didn't understand your question properly. Something else...these introverted types don't feel comfortable being aggressive in real life, but when it comes to the good internet, they feed off of any alter ego they can create...many personas if they can, like someone mentioned on another post.
He drank the Koolaid as well. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ne-trend-direction.302354/page-4#post-4323808
Forget IP address tracking for finding multi-nicks, they can be faked. Besides, some members honestly have one nick but they are basically sycophants of other members. Just make available a matrix of who likes who's posts then you'll see right away who the circle jerkers on ET are.
