Wow...I'm having problems trying to wrap my head around all of this involving Xela or Mr. Smith. Out of curiosity, now that your willing to post publicly your members IP addresses although I do understand its now a banned member or a member that needs psychological help... Why not setup your forum to show member's IP address with each & every message post ??? This was asked in the past many times before and you've been unwilling to do it. I've only asked again about this issue because I've seen other forums do it but I just can't remember the name of the forum. I do know you have access to that info only but making it available (publicly) when members post messages may help minimize multinicks and any other concerns associated with such (e.g. stalking, trolling or whatever). This is an issue I've seen in the past in many different situations here at ET where members accussing other members of being another member, reincarnation of someone that was banned in the past, accussing someone of being someone from another forum (banned at that other forum). Now that you're publicly revealing at least one member''s IP address...was the real issue in the past for not setting up IP address reveal within a message post due to a coding issue here at the forum...as in you can't code that in ??? Seems like a win win situation because doing such (public IP address reveal in message posts) will also minimize publicly announcing that a particular member is a multinick of another member or a nick of someone in a nearby location of another member to imply they personally know each other or that the person is moving around and posting from different nearby locations (they are mobile posting). Also, another issue I saw raised by Gotcha...I'm sure many members here at your forum will be willing to reveal more info about their trading if they had a sense of trust about those other annonymous folks reviewing the trading info especially at a public social media site. You know...someone annonymous not willing to reveal himself/herself while asking someone else to reveal private info although I'm sure the IP experts will tell me that revealing IP address in message posts will not solve problems at a forum, P.S. I've always naively assumed that members pretending to be the opposite gender as a transgender issue or a man pretending to be a woman doing such to gain power over other male members or acting upon conscious (or) unconscious homosexual feelings. What's the name of that dating website in which most of the register females were actually men ??? wrbtrader

You did smarten up, should have been one liner answer the first time. That IP that Xela used makes you vulnerable,I know What makes me very suspicious is not the IP itself ,but something else.I spotted things that tell me how sophisticated you are, this gets me worried, WTF is going on If British Police had a good look behind that IP in Leeds would that trouble you?
The only thing that relates me to xela is a post about 1,2 ,3 formations and at the time nobody was aware about the persons past here in ET. Despite being a psycopathic aspie I still find some of her book recommendations helpful.
the fact that you don't see the downside says a lot about you. I am going to cop out and ask other posters to pick up the cudgel and enlight you.
Yes, please enlighten me about the "downside" involving publicly revealing IP addresses in message posts made by all members especially after Baron himself has now publicly done so including posting a very nice image w/ map of the member. Why not do the same (IP address reveal) for everyone at this forum in each & every message post. Its not perfect but I do think it can reveal the "multinick problem". Yet, I'm not an IT expert. Thus, I don't understand why this would be an issue unless its really about a coding issue for the forum to do such. Seriously, I do not see a downside to doing such and the only thing it says about me is that I don't have an understanding of how IP addresses can be manipulated by the poster or even by those posting the IP address of another member...I've already admitted I'm naive about the IP address issue. Yet, I'm smart enough to know that it can be manipulated by those that know how to do it. wrbtrader
You saying that Baron revealing Xela (Mr. Smith) IP address that included posting a public image of a map location of the IP address was not a privacy breach because the member was recently banned by Baron ??? Thus, had the member not been banned...it would have been a privacy invasion if Baron had publicly posted the IP Address info with an image of the location on a map. Thus, my suggestion about IP addresses reveal in the message post for any member (all members) is an invasion of privacy. Simply, is Baron wrong or right in revealing publicly the IP address of the member in question (Xela...Mr. Smith) or can this be swepted underneath the rug as in forgiven because its a unique situation decided by one person (Baron) or that the member was banned prior to revealing private info about the member. Maybe this would make the forum more like a "police state"...cops publicly revealing private info to catch someone that has committed a crime after they weren't able to catch the criminal on their own or revealing private information about a member because he/she is dislike by someone. Thus, could be the reason why Baron in the past has not agreed with public revealing of IP addresses unless it has always been a coding issue problem for the forum to setup such. P.S. I believe the location (not IP address) had already been revealed or questioned at another forum. Baron's actions of publicly confirming the location with IP address and location map of the IP address here at ET is not a privacy invasion ??? wrbtrader
