As soon as my Restoration Hardware short comes in.... https://www.mansionglobal.com/articles/79463-a-28-000-square-foot-oceanfront-villa-in-the-maldives
Nice but rent, don't buy. Just how often would you use it, specially with friends? Not to mention that is like a 12 hours flight from NYC. This is in my backyard, only 3 hours drive: https://www.mansionglobal.com/artic...-co-founder-lists-pennsylvania-hunting-estate Same price range, and you can actually live there, not in the middle of the ocean thingy.
That is a beautiful place, but what's the hurricane situation on the Maldives? Do they get hit often?
I thought the same thing. But nevermind the hurricanes, the land will be under water in 7 years: "According to former Maldivian presidentMohamed Nasheed, the Maldives are ranked the third most endangered nation due to flooding from climate change. In March and April 2012, Nasheed stated, "If carbon emissions continue at the rate they are climbing today, my country will be under water in seven years." That is a lots of money down the drain for spending there a few weeks a year. The good thing is, you don't need a jacuzzi: "The surface water temperatures reached an all-time high in 2016, at 31 degrees Celsius in May."
Also with sea level rising that property will be underwater in 50 years. Maldives is the most vulnerable place for this threat. http://www.climatehotmap.org/global-warming-locations/republic-of-maldives.html Edit: pekelo beat me by few minutes
Maybe that place comes with its own submarine. On the other hand renting can be pretty cheap and they have luxurious rental too: https://www.vrbo.com/4317743ha?unitId=4728268
