Great job today game... you might even be ahead by a few ticks if you count it all up. Today was hard for everyone I think. I like the tight scratches.

Yeah the chop had a lot of energy within it to make trades worthwhile.

Yes a little hard, but I find these Range chop days much easier than Trend chop - those days when the trend is channeling - enticing you and then chopping you. With Range chop, at least the boundaries are clear.

Excellent observation. Also interesting what you say about the chop having energy. I too have been seeing the "quality" of the moves. Just not sure if it amounts to much, or rather, if its worthwhile to go into the nuances. For example, even though you see them fighting so much, does it really matter if you see neither side it controlling price? What is important is "does price get moved or not", not so much that they both gave it such a great effort. Unless of course seeing the effort helps you see which side will end up accomplishing their goal.

Consider Trip's Long. It was not a classic BO+RET. Neither was there a clear High + ret. One could argue it was technically still inside the chop, or perhaps even a BO trade. Yet he took the trade. I suspect it may have been because of the manner in which price rocketed from Support - 12 points in 4 mins. It cut through everything. What do you think the shorts were feeling at this point :)

The situation called for an aggressive re-entry - which I failed to take.

I hope the shorts got out way before the top of the range!

I like aggressive too... get in right away, less risk on price... get out right away too. I don't want to fall into the trap of overtrading... but I like getting a better price and scratching for no cost.

  8. It is good that you mentionned that you need to quantify all of this, because reading
'high expectations on rich valued stocks are often not met' , my first reaction was :
    how often ?
