The Reversal off the upper limit of the 60 min TC may have given me confidence. Besides that, the pace of the first climb back towards entry was sluggish. The next few attempts could not break the local Swing High. I was expecting a cascade once price broke S level of 97. So exited when that did not happen.
I have been really keeping up with your journal lately and enjoy watching your entries. I like how you keep at it, keep working the trades. You have some really good trades, and some puzzling, at least to me, trades. Today I see some trades that are scratched for tiny loses, a short that gets you a decent profit, but as the day continues, your last 2 shorts have considerable losses on the exits. I can see how you were waiting for a break of the SL, but when you don't angle your SL down, then the exit is just too far away. Don't get me wrong Game, I'm just learning too. Its just something I see so I was curious to ask. Your one profitable short, 5th trade by my count, and profitable long, 8th trade by my count both have only about a point moving against you before they take off. Hmmm.. I wonder if in addition to watching price you also had a 2 point max loss rule if that would ultimately mean more points gained. Hope you don't mind me commenting on your chart. (Feel free to tear apart mine! LOL... today was quite tough)
It's easy to get tied up in curve fitting regarding how much room to give the trade. I am trying to concentrate on the right reasons to participate in a trade, rather than getting overly concerned about immediate trade management. My overall strategy regarding Adverse movement management is based on my judgment as to the 'Energy' potential in the situation. Thus, trades around the Open or at extremes are supposed to be exited much sooner than those in less 'energetic' zones. The 'energy' judgment is based on my assessment of PA markers. With that said, the last short of the day was not a good trade, both in entry and exit. I am ok with the second last short and it's management. Although price had returned to the mean, having been rejected both at 3668 and 3645, the larger context pointed towards weakness based on price's position just under the 60 min TC upper limit - so I took it and gave it room. Thanks for the feedback. Going forward, I will make sure to give you my input as well.
