I am assuming you are referring to the long entry on your chart at 0928 EST. It was too early of a turn for me. I did not see any clear imbalance at the that point. Price was still to the left of the larger supply line and the overall context suggested caution.
Was counting on the congestion and small downswing to provide R. But price surged instead. Got caught.
if I'm understanding your chart correctly you are sometimes scaling out of trades. You went long around 8:50. Why not exit 1 (or some quantity) near the HOD around 3604 ? Same thing on the 9:50 short and LOD. just curious.
I don't have rules that automatically trigger exits at potential S/R. It depends on my assessment of the context. The quality of the movement from OL indicated strength (pace of move) and I gauged the odds of OH break and trend run as being greater than V Reversal back to Range Support. However, as R manifested and time elapsed, the case for a break became weaker. Nevertheless, I sort of exited in no man's land since the balance still remained on the demand side. Same on the short at 0951. The way price sliced through all the previous congestion shifted odds to Range break. Had it meandered down, I would have been more inclined to exit on confirmed S.
