Watching by and for oneself, does increase incredibly the quality of the way of working and it results for anyone.

The attached pic exposes a problem I have been trying to solve for many many hours and with tons of scenarios, and I'm stuck.

I have used again the PDF provided by @tiddlywinks. It helped me a lot, and at the same time, led me to be blocked. So it means something important resides here. Thank you @tiddlywinks !

To repeat what you lastly said in previous posts @Sprout, pt2 must cross the previous established RTL and create a new fractal.
How do we establish RTL ? by connecting bars. 2, 3 etc.
If one connects two bars, one gets a tape, two opposite tapes = 1FF, 2 opposite FF = 1 TF and so on .
So, in the example I post, whether we consider the RTL establish first from up Bar 9:30am, or the long combined tape one's, pt2 of the tape formed by bar 9:40 and 9:45 will never have its pt2 outside any RTL, because by shape and geometry, its pt2 is on bar 9:40.
So, is there a short FF here as drawn in red ? Or is the matter to fan prior RTL created a long combined tape ?

I've seen Jack saying "if bar 2 works better for pt2, you can use it."
I've tried to apply this, but there again after so many scenarios sometimes one has to use bar 1, sometimes bar 2 for pt2.

I don't see this working with a clear rule, and hope you can lead me to explore this better.

Example by JH himself, beginning a tape in the opposite direction of the prior RTL, with pt2 inside the prior container...

There’s no bar numbers, difficult to comment without introducing ambiguity.

    As for establishing a rtl, it’s a pt1 and pt3.

Small mistakes even in languaging continue confusion.

With that said, with the addition of BM’s that is how I would have annotated that price pane. The BM’s and RTL’s then reveal what the volume ID’s would be, at which point the EE’s begin to show up giving Turn ID’s and Trend ID.

From a Gaussian view, that snippet would be a single trade or multiple depending on the level of monitoring and one’s definition of trading fractal.

    That is a degapped example.

In any case Bar2 broke the prior tape and new dominant traverse long has not been taped. Volume would support defining what is happening.

Without the larger context, my interpretation is subject to amendment.

    @WchPl

Attached are a few more files, These are also available in other threads. Nothing new here. Taken together, these are GUIDELINES.

As sprout mentions language (and terminology) is/will be a source of confusion.

    Again, these files are GUIDELINES.

The bar-by-bar.pdf is for annotating adjacent bars, the smallest visual container that can be created. Some people call that a tape, I do not.

The other pdfs should hopefully be self explanatory and helpful. They all work together.

As for the pt2 question... pt1 and pt3 create an RTL. What sequence must volume do to create a BO of a container? That would be R2R or B2B, also it can be seen as IV-DV-IV, where IV= increasing volume, DV = decreasing volume. What must volume do to create a pt2?

    Happy Holidays.

Using a different, almost opposite viewpoint, think about a pt3, which is necessary for RTL, and RTL is necessary for a BO of an RTL....

What does volume do as it forms a pt3, new pt3, or approaches a known RTL?

What does volume do to CONFIRM a pt3 or new pt3? What does price do on the confirm?

How is this different from a BO of an RTL?

You guys are fantastic.... Thank you very much.

@tiddlywinks , the contrast between your actual generosity and what we've been through before is soooooo satisfying ! :) Plus, I consider your help as a very precious one. I am sincerly grateful that you help me. A huge thank you.

@Sprout of course, @Simples , @baro-san thank you very much too ! Your help is making my comprehension better and better, finer and finer every day. It's a quite powerful sentiment to read and understand better all of your messages...

With all that said, I was overwhelmed but you made me want to work tomorrow finally ^^

To create a pt2, which is a BO by nature, volume must do a R2R or a B2B. Each journey from pt1 to pt2 is on a R2R/B2B volume move.

But here is an example where I do not see this applying...or better I'd say where I start to know that I don't know anymore.

    example.png

As you can see, on bar 5, price shows XR for the first time after 3 XBs in a row. Pt2's' tape made with bar 4 and 5 is outside previous RTL established by previous tape. But, volume is still decreasing. In my mind I hear here : must I include this bar 5 inside the previous combined long tape that began with bar 1 ? And so must I fan that long combined tape ?

With all the work on the gaussians I've done along the last 2 weeks, I feel like the answer could be : at this time, volume sequence has not done what it must do to make appear on price pane what is just happening.

The way I'm beginning to see it is that : just after that moment where I begin to know that I don't know anymore, I see volume increasing. Volume had to increase. It has increased at bar 6. So, maybe the key here is to say : I see price doing something that needs certain volume sequence that is not happening. So, if I want to declare "there's a long fast fractal", volume MUST increase when RTL crosses prior one. So I would get 2 opposite combined (or not) tapes, creating a first FF.
I'm thinking logically on : is the answer market gives me here :"fan until volume increases and completes it sequence, and there declare FF appears on bar 6, as volume shows "with delay" what he HAD to ?
Or is it : to declare a FF appears, volume MUST increase ON that moment where RTL crosses prior one established, so at that moment where a tape crosses with its point 2 the prior RTL, and contradicts it ? And so, if volume increases after, like it's the case here in my example, let's just fan cause if volume does not increase, one must fan and include that tape made here by bar4 and 5..

That's a crucial point cause from here begin problems on P1 when doing VTP for example, and MANY MANY other things depend on this. In fact....almost everything is there.

I've reread the documents Bar-by-bar and the Spyder's Channel Construction PDF doc, thanks a lot for putting those docs back into light. They have constitued a concrete help, as it takes me to my deepest in-comprehensions.
But the point I exposed above, is the one i'm stuck on.

    Keeping the work...
