I know what you mean. From your writing and experience, you seem like a young trader in your early 20s (though my impression could be wrong), and eager to quickly make your mark in the trading world. Also seems that you are determined to make trading your primary vocation.

Then why start a thread entitled "Making a Killing in Index Futures" ? It appears from your posts that you've already formed an opinion about index futures market behaviors, so just go ahead and trade it already. For the record, many short term index futures traders have been complaining for years about the spoofing and flipping and order book manipulation going on in the index futures...

Correct, except one day I would like to get in a position of managing other peoples money to reduce my own risk and have more upside.

First without proof of the 100K there is no point stating it, no body is going to believe you, as you sound like a rookie, sorry!

Second, FX has good periods where the money flow is going into currency ( you might be better on the quite periods ofcourse ), so you switch then the money flow moves then your back to losing and should you switch again.

    Solution :-

Watch / Trade Both at once, I trade DAX, GA, GJ and EJ and I pick which 1 is working best for me at the time.

FX and Index's can both go dead, if money flow is going into Gold / Oil.

Index is a tracker of the Stocks, so really your trading Stocks remember also.

  6. I'd be amazed if Mr. Fundlord could even show one significantly profitable monthly statement.

This is fantasy headline ... if your good you will make a living in index futures and only a select few times a year you can make a killing. This on the proviso that you don't take the risks you have pointed out. I appreciate your enthusiasm but it has to be tamed before you can prosper.

  9. I totally agree. If he had provided either some statements to demonstrate his success or mentioned his strategies, it could become believable.
Since NEITHER were provided, I remain skeptical as well.

Doesn't really matter whether it's true or not. This is written by someone who's studied books, not the market. He'll blow up at least once, and that may be all it takes.

Why do people insist on losing so much money before they begin to learn their business? They'd do so much better if they were to reverse this order.
