I kinda like these charts. Pennytrader, do you manually draw in the trendline channels, or does Ensign do that? It looks like I should check Ensign software out...
You're right. Ensign - Auto trend feeature, automatically draws trendlines, plus I use market profile for support/POC/resistence (these pink and red lines, they're dynamic). HH/HL/LL/HL etc are fibonacci retracements - swing highs and swing lows (Pesavento Patterns), candles are volume weighted.
It is Ensign charting software - http://www.ensignsoftware.com and Esignal data feed (http://www.esignal.com), I don't use Esignal software, use its datafeed only. Ensign gives me more flexbility to customize, the best charting software around IMO, there is nothing you cannot do with it. The only drawback with Ensign/Esignal is - when the stock moves like crazy, the charting software freezes, for example, when GOOG earnings was out, it runs so fast and tick changes so quickly, I can hear my PC fan starts to rant, Ensign freezed, I won't be able to see any charts, miss some good trades in this case, maybe my my dual-core processor PC cannot handle the data, I don't know what the problem is - PC, Esignal, or Ensign.
I just found out the wiring fee (out) is $50 at Prodigy Trading, ouch! I used to make two $2500 withdraws every two weeks, now I've to reduce the withdraw frequency, it is adding up the cost. I won't hold any marginable stocks overnight, so no issues with the margin interest. Intraday use of margin doesn't cost any $.
From GOOG's weekly chart, if GOOG is strong enough tomorrow, the very top of the trend channel is at exactly $500 for this week. Hope we can make some plays on GOOG tomorrow.
I use Ensign with IB for data. Never have a freeze up unless IB data goes down which is very seldom now. Might be your data supply.
Thanks, very possible an Esignal issue. I don't have another data source to test. I used to have an IB account, because IB doesn't feed every tick, the tick charts are thin, I subscribed Esignal, they feed every tick, maybe it is data overflow.
