Helicopter. Fairly popular on the Big Island. I know what you’re saying. I couldn’t afford chess books let alone chess lessons when I was a kid in the 70s-80s. No doubt he has a privileged life. He’s a good kid, though.
The guy's making $82K a year, more than most of North Americans here and he's complaining because he couldn't get Disney+ for the kids. Unreal!! I guess today, even the immigrants are entitled and priviledged. LOL
No claim was made on my end that private school is necessary. I don’t know what trap you are referring to. Good for you to have confidence in the public school system where you are. I wouldn’t know so I won’t comment about that. In any case, it’s good to have choices, including the choice to opt out of conventional schooling. I know families who homeschooled their children and they had the means to send them to any private school they wanted. The boys are a GM and an IM and full-time chess professionals in fact. Conventional schooling did not work for them because they travelled abroad for tournaments during the school year and would have had extended absences.
It's only an insurance, in case someone doesn't get the irony. Small text, because it ain't that important.
Some could improve their finances by moving to a new location. As an example.. Californians in the 32% Federal tax bracket are also paying an 11% State tax. I have no idea how anyone can afford to live in that State. Regardless of their reasons, people live with paying such onerous taxes because they choose to do so. By moving to a Non-State tax state they could improve their finances.
Everybody's situation is unique. I have family members who currently live in California but their income levels are so high they don't sweat the high taxes; others are there because future career success is likely starting in California.
Well it's still better than France under Francois Holland that was taxing the rich at 75%. Imagine for every $1 you make, you have to give 75 cents to the government and only get to keep 25 cents with you. 43% tax rate, that is unreal!! And any new properties in that state still stay on the market for only 5 days on average. People would still bid to buy properties to stay in that state.
If you are a billionaire in California, you live like a king. Sure, taxes are high but, only for the little people and middle class. When the tax loopholes written by politicians are used to skirt around stringent tax laws, the politically connected and filthy rich extreme liberals get the royal treatment. Warren Buffet in one tax year, paid a measly sum of 15% on his income, Jeffrey Bezos paid zero one year yet, the extreme liberal Democrats are busy rifling thru President Donald Trump's past tax returns? Donald Trump is poor compared to Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeffrey Bezos, Warren Buffet by a magnitude of 10 maybe. Nancy Pelosi continues to live in California as well as billionaires Oprah Winfrey, Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian. If the taxes are so bad, these celebrities would be all leaving California, why are they still here? Harry and Meghan, newly minted, high net worth millionaires with their $200 million deal with Netflix continue to live in California too. You better believe it, these guys have tax loopholes up their asses.
