To clarify ideologically Im still on the left, even more progressive than previously.Im a 2000 /2016 type leftist that will take a Republican, even Trump, over a Gore/Clinton/Biden type Democrat.
Everyone knows, pimpin ain't easy. Trump just trying to make a dolla. In other news, I heard Joe crossed a bridge on a train that didn't have train tracks, which is a Jesus like walk on water miracle. We are fortunate to have such holy men as leaders.
Welcome to the angry, disillusioned Democrat crowd of which I've been a member for decades. It's kinda hopeless no matter who you vote for, but it's somewhat satisfying to give the middle finger to the DNC and the charlatans pretending to be pure of corruption and collusion. The country is a joke at this point, nothing to do but laugh.
Actually I found my way, along with millions of others who have left The Democrat Party the last 3 years.Thats the 1 thing I do have to thank Joe Biden for.
No. Sorry, but I liken such Democrats as children who can't have it exactly their way when building a sand castle with a group and so then just kick the whole thing down. Tell me I'm wrong.
The best way to describe my political ideology would be global utilitarianism. I don't see either party striving for this at all. There's plenty of corporate corruption I agree with progressives on. What scares me about progressives is they often believe in monopolization of industries by the government. Both Republicans and Democrats have a corporate wing that end up promoting limited competition, often oligopoly/duopolies/monopolies through their corrupt deals. I want a government that promotes market economies and competition (which could include competition with the public sector if the public sector respects patent rights). Government is too slow to move/fix problems when the incentives aren't there. A lot of innovation/inventions have come through entrepreneurship and I'm extremely hesitant to let the government take that away. That said, they can restrict and enforce destructive behavior such as buying patents to monopolize a drug and price gouge. You and I disagree strongly on crime and law enforcement. I have a lot more sympathy for illegal immigrants coming here looking for a better life than I do people being a nuisance in public. I have zero tolerance for looting/openly using drugs/tents in public parks/sidewalks and destructive behavior. I was in both Spokane, WA and Cour d'Alene, ID a few weeks back and what a contrast. One city (Spokane tolerates that shit) and the other (Cour d'Alene) doesn't. I'm a lot more comfortable walking around Cour D'Alene and I'm sure the small businesses downtown are much happier with their situation as well. I believe in deterring crime like Japan/Singapore and I'm not the biggest fan of the 8th Amendment. Also not a big fan of the 2nd Amendment (which seems irrelevant to me when I read the text). Some would say that makes me an authoritarian. However, I'm a massive fan of the 1st Amendment. I also don't agree with calls to restrict "hate speech" as long as people aren't organizing violence. Why? It doesn't make sense to hold people liable for a bad thought. I think it's important for people to voice their opinions and then for others to beat their opinions by voicing theirs. For example, why do we need to silence segregationists? At this point, their ideas lost and the majority of us think they're morons. Laws restricting their speech didn't get us to this point. Laws allowing free speech did. I know that's a lot, but my point is I'm more independent than somebody who follows the traditional left/right spectrum.
