It's an idiom, so it's not meant to be taken literally as written.

Let us have honest discussion on this. Companies like Apple, IBM, Accenture, Meta, Twitter, Google need foreign markets to grow. Countries will not give market access to them unless they create local jobs. China has closed opportunities for some of these companies. India is more open.

After the border clash between China and India in 2020, India banned several Chinese apps and software. Local Indian companies as well as American companies came out with alternate products. Today, Indian government looks at Chinese investment with suspicion and that causes difficulties for Chinese businesses operating in India .

Once American companies expand into India and hire local employees, employee competition within those companies becomes a transnational game. You may see several foreign origin employees moving up the ladder. On the contrary, if companies avoid this growth model, they don't get access to some of the large markets in the world and those markets are capable of building similar products all by themselves. So either we hold small companies under our control or we let our companies expand and capture foreign markets. Which brings more prosperity to the USA? Go, figure!

Working is addictive. The more work you do, the more work you realize you haven't done so you work more but the more you work the more you realize the work that you still have to do so you do more and etc. The vicious cycle just keeps you going until one day you just break down, overdosed on work...

I don't think it's too liberal to abandon idioms that once seemed appropriate but are not quite today.

I remember they had "negerkuesse" in Germany at some point in time which translates into "Negro kisses"

No. To be fair, those were brought by the British and old European colonists, before we had the founding of country. Most of them worked in plantation and agriculture. If they were to ask for reparations, they should start with the British old ruling class. I am surprised with so many smart historians, no one distinguishes this fact.

Funny...even your early presidents held themselves some good hardworking Negro slaves. In fact 12 US presidents did. Just shows on what moral principles that country was built. Point at your own nose before you search for others' faults.

And the USa Indians that were enslaved by USa Indians/chiefs helped also.
Africa was helped by muzzies + blacks that enslaved african blacks also\ not that slavery is right.
To be fair, general + Pres Andrew jackson was not really an Indian seriel killer- hater, even though many accused him of that.
That would be like the liberal loons in USa media calling USa -Vietnam military-baby killers or -Asian haters.
I hunted + bow hunted for many years with a 50% Indian, his good looking mom was 100% Cherokee; they NEVER complained about Indians enslaving Indians or Andrew Jackson, or Wounded Knee.:caution::caution:

Then you used your skills at bow hunting to throw darts at a list of stocks. That is a good way as any to choose which stocks to trade .:D

LOL.:D:D Good thing i learned from an USa Indian king how to bow hunt.
I never called him chief or redskin, none of which i consider racial insults by the way.
The orange orangatang pattern of throwing darts @ WSJ paper single stocks\LOL
IBD founding father never did like the idea of WSJ picking stocks.
Another reason i seldom do single stocks= not good enough; pay peanuts my banker dad warned me - get monkeys:D:D
