I'm tired on what literally feels a cellular level these days, Centrum multivitamins ain't cutting it. This week I should be catching the big Space X launch in Texas and having some blood plasma cleaning procedure but I'm happier dozing all day at home. All my stats are nominal to good except for some systemic inflammation the blood cleaning is supposed to relieve.

Maybe I'll get up there next month.

  2. Sorry to hear about your fatigue. Do you have an underlying condition, and did your doctor recommend the procedure? And, just to cover the bases, are you eating and sleeping well?

Cheers, nope, all bloodwork is nominal to good. There is no obvious reason other than getting older. My oxygen levels could be a lot better, bit of apnea and I hate the Cpap however I've found using an oxygen concentrator (just a couple of liters) and carefully arranging my sleeping position I hardly snore and my ring pulse oxymeter on my little finger shows a solid level without many drops which would stress my heart.

There is a new approach to OSA/snoring though that's interesting where instead of a cpap they implant electrodes that on detecting snoring the nerves that push the tongue forward in tbe mouth are stimulated. It may be I have the physiology that this benefits. However.. I think I'm managing the mild apnea well so I can't really explain why I feel tired.

It just feels the last year the remaining moments of youthful energy are used up. We will see what the blood plasma dilution/cleaning does. I actually don't even mind having lazy day after another just I know thats a ditch to climb out of :)

Sleeping on an incline might help with sleep apnea.

Yes that makes a big difference, I made large wedges initially however I found that a nearly flat curved pillow also allows me breathe without snoring most of the night.

I don't expect magic but as I'm 'non-complaint' with the Cpap, I often remove it when completely asleep if I ever can sleep with it, I think these new tongue stimulators may help.

In any case, most nights my O2 is good with a little canula oxygen and obstruction minimum so I'm not expecting to see a huge improvement.

  6. When you say that you have some apnea and that your O2 levels could be better, are you referring to the levels at night, or also during the day? And, if I may ask, what are your levels on average?

During the day / sitting at my desk 95 seems normal though this will rise walking around. On my back watching TV on the sofa or in bed it drops to 91%. It gets worse on my left side, drops into the higher 80s but we have two lobes in the left side lung and three in the right hand's side. The three lobe lung works better with weight on it.

Of course it may be I'm not exchanging gases as efficiently and Co2 is higher but I don't know my arterial gasses. The big needle they use measuring that is horrible haha.

That said using 02 I sleep at 97-98% with few drops. I sense it's something metabolic. If I don't take my multivitamins (bog standard Centrum, 1 and a half a day as I'm large) I get a similar weariness and that's been for years. It just feels I'm a bit drained all the time now. It's all so complicated when there are no stand out problems in testosterone, cortisol, iron etc.

It may be part psychological, the past year has not been so much fun with Ukraine stuff weighing on me but I'm hopeful the plasma dilution/blood cleaning will help. I do feel bit sore/achy (not the right word but similar) overall and if I take an anti-inflammatory this lessens.

  8. Interesting, and I didn't know about the 2-lobe and 3-lobe thing. Well, this is all very much above my paygrade. I hope everything works out for the best.

@Bugenhagen what type of cpap mask do you wear? My buddy uses the one that has the two little noses coming up to the nose. Not a mask.
