18 complaints against the officer, disciplined for 2. Even a bunch were not valid, there was more than enough of a pattern to say this officer needed to be removed and counseled.
As I said the other day and it is already happening, sooner or later- probably sooner- the discussion will move to the issue of police unions and how the disciplinary process they negotiate in their contracts is designed to excessively protect them. In related matter, I read some testimony from a guy who worked at the club who said that the officer and floyd not only knew each other but notoriously had bad blood between them- the problem allegedly being that the officer would come to the club and harass the patrons and throw his weight around. I dont know whether that is true or not of course. It sounds like it would not be out of character for the officer, but on the other hand the witness is gunning to get the officer too. Just sayin that a couple more witnesses supporting the idea that he had a preformed disposition to take him out beforehand and there is going to be enormous pressure to move the charge up to first degree. Note that my point is that there will be enormous pressure to do that if at least one more such witness comes forward. You can make the valid point that that the bar for first degree is so high that it will not work but that does not counter my point that there will be pressure to do that. The mob is driving many things now that are not legally tidy or logical.
I still think it will be a stretch to get murder 1 but sounds more like a soap opera that they had bad blood beforehand...
Yes, the unions that you and your ilk have supported have protected all the bad apples in law enforcement and education. Need to unwind all that, and oh how the lefties and union bootlickers like Joe Biden will howl.
