They told him "he didn't need to do that"..... yet in most situations where a civilian follows a suspicious person and police arrest a criminal solving a set of crimes -- the civilian is hailed as a hero.
And all the evidence at the trial. You remember -- the trial where Zimmerman was cleared of all charges. The trial where he was declared not guilty.
[ Zimmerman wasn't just taking a walk or drive in his neighborhood and you know that.If someone was stalking your daughter like Zimmerman was Martin we know your opinion would be diffrent.
Following a suspect in a car or from a distance, not getting out of your car chasing a suspect that is running from you, which is why they told Zimmerman to stop following Martin. No police agency in this country would tell a citizen to get out of thier car and chase a running suspect.
The only thing that would change the situation is if the Trayvon had a legal protective order against Zimmerman. If someone was stalking my daughter then certainly there would be a legal protective order applied requiring the person to stay away from my daughter by X number of feet, etc. I don't know how it is in other states -- but if someone violates a protective order here and appears threatening -- then you are legally permitted to use a firearm to defend yourself. Our community has a neighborhood watch. I can assure you that the individuals in charge of our neighborhood watch would definitely follow any suspicious character in our neighborhood while on the phone with 911. If the suspicious character attacked them -- well lets just say that all of the neighborhood watch leaders generally have concealed carry permits.
If your daughter thought she was being followed by a person she didnt know than ran from him and he got out his car and ran after her we know you wouldnt be taking his side.
