Anybody want to cite any applicable laws, statutes, codes refuting this? To think that you have to pull over in zero seconds; or 1 second; or several seconds; regardless as to location is simply astonishing to me. And to think that flipping the car over is the appropriate remedy, when someone didn't instantly slam on the brakes and pull over because (the cop thinks) they saw blue lights in their rear-view; but they did turn on hazards, and they pulled to the right, and they slowed down, is even more astonishing.
What if the driver doesn't make the decision to "ignore the law and flee," but instead decides to follow the law, and pull over at a safer location? I'd love to see any non-deceptive quotes on this from the State Police prior to them knowing/believing they'd be facing a lawsuit? Or them citing any applicable laws, statutes, codes?
I understood/-stand your landing zone. My response wasn't meant to presuppose contrary to the obvious implications of your thread title, as it relates to your position. My response was strictly a reply to the statement you posted, along with your clarifying commentary. As you included no clarifying commentary; and as a casual reader of your post might get a misunderstanding as to the purpose of your post. I offered my rebuttal. Now, all is clear to everyone. I come in peace.
She and her lawyer will without doubt be using the same information in their lawsuit against the police officer that screwed up when he used excessive force. Contrary to the idiots that do not know the law / recommendation in Arkansas that believe the police officer had the right to use the "pit maneuver" when she didn't suddenly stop on a freeway. They knew she was slowing down, they saw she put on her hazard lights and they saw her slowly move to the shoulder... She was not fleeing. Further, the demeanor of the police officer towards the women after he flipped her car was not the demeanor of a police officer that truly thought someone was fleeing. It was the demeanor of a police officer that knew he had fucked up for a traffic stop that was non threatening. wrbtrader
Actually, imo, when cops react the way he did, it's for three reasons. 1. To convince citizen that the cop was correct; and that the citizen was in the wrong. 2. To pre-emptively give testimony to a potential prosecutor, judge, and/or juror via the dashcam and/or bodycam. 3. To judge the reaction and knowledge of the citizen. This determines whether the cop needs to employ additional countermeasures (plant evidence, threaten retaliation, intimidation, lies, for examples.) The cop did what he did for fun/sport; and/or to practice his PIT skills. Depending on the exact situation-circumstance, cops also pull shit in order to receive overtime.
Listening to pro-abortion Leftards call this woman’s unborn fetus ‘a baby’ is truly wonderous. If he killed them both - wouldn’t that have been a double murder?
Conversation between two police officers: Steven - Hey Joe...how many cars did you flip today ? Joe - Only 8 flipped today but the prior day was really good...I flipped 20 cars just for a speeding violation. Will now sit down and do all this paperwork to get double pay because I'm now past the end of my shift. Steven - Yeah, I need some overtime hours so that I can pay off some bills. I think I'll try to flip 5 cars today. Need to remind myself to write down that they all were trying to flee. Joe - Good luck and have fun. Steven - Thanks bro wrbtrader
