I love BMW, one of the best and most fun cars to drive. Been customer since 2002. I lease, so get a new car every 3 years. The one I drive, is actually made here in South Carolina.

  3. The bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler were first initiated before Obama was inaugurated in 2009. But the Obama administration has attempted to take credit for them as the U.S. auto industry has improved its performance in recent years.

Obama hammered 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney for his opposition to the loans for the duration of his bid for re-election that year. The bailouts were credited with playing a large role in helping Obama to win the critical swing of Ohio en route to his defeat of Romney.

Romney wrote an op-ed in the New York Times 2008 that was titled “Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” that become a staple of Obama’s campaign speeches in the Midwest, though Republican officials argued that the phase that became a staple of campaign ads in 2012 was not written by that year's GOP nominee.

Obama made a veiled reference to initial Republican opposition to the bailouts during his remarks to Ford workers on Wednesday.

  5. Nice try but the bailouts are as much a GOP thing as they are Dem. Try not to whitewash it away from the GOP as though Dems came into office and suddenly bailed out GM, Chrysler, Merrill Lynch, etc... All of Wall Street buddies of the GOP walked away with golden parachutes from bailout money. Once Bush approved it you think Obama was going to walk away from it when it was such a sweet deal and would seal up votes for 2010 and 2012?

GOP touts hands off but when their friends get in trouble the money comes flowing in. At least Dems say up front they are going to hand out money.

Its seems that the international car companies who elected to open factories in the USA are going to be way ahead on this.

Happy to buy foreign cars.... if they are made in the United States.

I'll bet Canada is nervous..... LOL.

Bush and Obama did an admirable job
saving America from a depression. I think one reason rates are still so low is that people are afraid of what will happen if they raise rates given that real gdp growth is still sub 3percent.

  8. I think other factors are starting to weigh in on growth so raising rates now would be tough. Even though we can agree 25 or 50 basis points up over the next 4 months has little to no effect, the perception and fear will be more than enough to drop the stock market which people still foolishly use as a proxy for U.S. economy and start a chain of events. With an election next year, Trump will lose his shit if the fed raises rates and "hurts" the economy and hurts his chance at reelection haha. I would actually pay to watch that.

I am kind of sick of having my savings cash earning .00001%
