Are you implying Trump can’t get a fair trial in New York City? Have you ever heard of change of venue? All US citizen defendents accused of a crime are still entitled to a trial by a fair and impartial jury. Jury selection is where both the prosecution and defense ask the potential jurors questions to determine their impartiality. A potential juror can be dismissed by either side for cause or by using a limited number of premptory challenges. But you are missing the bigger picture here. A politically motivated trial that results in the perceived wrongful conviction of a successful and prominent businessman will send a strong message to other successful and prominent business people who either are or would consider doing business in New York state. Over time, New York will see a net outflow of job creating talent and money, leaving those remaining with few economic opportunities. It is through the above mechanism that Socialist, Communist, and Radical Leftist policies fail. Far Left Democratic policies are inherently unsound and various methods are utilized in an attempt to enforce compliance. Know the history of the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall? In which direction might you imagine people going when attempting to scale the wall? Towards the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) or to the West? Almost all people went towards to West, risking their lives to escape the political philosophy that did not respect human freedoms rights, and provided little economic opportunities. Oh sure, the USSR had a modern Constitution, but it did their citizens little good. People are more productive when they have a vested interest in the outcome. This extra productivity in scale is what provides potentially increased standard of living for all. Again, follow the people. Are they going towards the “equal” ecomonic opportunities of South America, or are they going to the “Unfair distribution of income” in the United States? The idealogy that you support will ultimately take away our rights. Our future political leaders will have to take away our rights if they are to remain in power. As economic opportunities fade because of the loss of talent and wealth mentioned earlier, civil unrest increases. As civil unrest increases, Government forces will be directed to quell riots and attempt to suppress anti-Government sentiment, like we are seeing in France and Venezuela. Remember China’s Tiananmen Square Massacre? This is our future if we let Far Leftist ideology win. You really want to think hard, real hard, on what you think you want. We are seeing Radical Leftist college students using air horns when Conservative speakers are giving a speech. Aren’t we supposed to have a right to free speech in the United States? People are regularly harrassed or assaulted for wearing a hat, a MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat. What ever happened to the right of self expression? We are seeing American iconic history being removed, such as with John Wayne. We are seeing money earmarked for education being spent on school remodel jobs and new art center buildings on a nationwide scale. For the most people, the arts do not increase their earnings power or job opportunities. In addition, we as a nation miss out on further innovation through science or engineering or business know how when there is an over emphasis in the arts in our schools. US schools are increasingly becoming indoctrination centers that effectively hobble their students from becoming smart consumers or productive citizens. In aggregate, this reduces the US global competitive advantage. In a world with increasing population, they only real chance we have for being able to provide opportunities for all is through more effective utilization of limited resources. The only reliable way to increase efficient utilization of resurces is through innovation. The way to foster innovation is through competition and investment. The best way to increase competition and investment is to have a free society, free market system, and a business friendly environment. Sure the Chinese and Russians have come up with some impressive innovations. However, in which direction does the theft of technology and scientific ideas flow? Mostly from US, England, and Germany to Russia and China. Again, try to think this through and stop supporting a political philosophy that will ultimately take away our freedom and economic opportunities.
