According to TMZ there is normally 2 ATCs at the time of the crash and switches to 1 later in the shift.They could be wrong but thats what they reported.
At tbe time of this shift they said repeatedly 1 ATC on duty..which was normal for traffic at that time.. Reagan has 1 main runway and the 2nd is used occasionally so 1 ATC can manage at that time. No one told the military to run trainings across a crowded approach.... the heli flew at or above 200ft which is a flagrant violation and caused the death of 64 souls..

I do not think the issue of 1 or 2 matters,,,, numerous experts said they have had 1 ATC at this time of the night with reduced traffic and can handle it. The helicopter did not need an ATC to be below 200ft as that is standard protocol. The helicopter did not need an ATC to tell it to go behind but it did and the heli still went on a straight path into the plane. 1 or 2 ATC, the heli was still possibly at too high of an altitude and a trainng mission would have known that form flying numerous times up and down the potomac. This looks right now like human pilot error form the Blackhawk and I am curious to see if trump and hesgeth try to hide from taking responsibility and being accountable. When the military causes the death of civilians the DoD Secy and President have to step up and not blame hte previous president or DEI or tell people why would he visit the site and pay respects, should he go swimming?
Trumps response was very poor leadership. I had dinner with an ex-ATC person. She said that pretty much all towers are understaffed. It’s an issue since Reagan combined with a toxic culture that makes it hard for young people to stay. It’s very stressful.
