You may be right, but it is all so Neanderthal. The problem is our environment changes, but beliefs and policies are slow to adapt. By our environment, I mean changes in relative military capability, communications technology, and the center of global manufacturing. It is astonishing how hard it is for people, including world leaders to accept reality. For example: 1. North Korea’s leadership has been under the control of one family for decades. 2. There is no rational reason for North Korea to ever give up their nuclear weapons based on the history of US military action. Even if they cut a deal with Trump where the United States gives North Korea guarantees and offers expertise and trade deal for economic development opportunities, what is to prevent Trump’s successors from find a way to dismantle the agreement? 3. This brings up another reality, the lack of continuity in our Government as far as policy is concerned because our Party philosophies are seemingly so far apart. 4. The influence of our war mongering defense contractors on our politicians and foreign policy decisions. A long term peaceful solution will almost certainly address the above issues. As far as our defense contractors are concerned, we need to redirect their efforts towards space manufacturing infrastructure, environmental rehabilitation projects, and food security. Some projects, such as massive artificial reefs could do triple duty by sequestering carbon, providing food security, and protecting vulnerable areas from storm damage. The above projects almost certainly require the cooperation of all the major powers. Instead of heavily investment into ways to blow each other up, how about we instead invest into ways of helping humanity and the rest of the inhabitants of our planet? North Korea took its most personal swipe at President Trump in more than two years, saying the U.S. leader’s recent comments made him sound like a “heedless and erratic old man,” Bloomberg reports.
Well whattayouknow, MPS' last post did not contain anything completely stupid or tinfoil. Good luck, forget politics completely and just grunt and nod agreement around the next girlfriend, no talking about your views on the world, all will be well.
