It’s so funny watching Avenatti use the ol’ Alinsky Rules for Radicals playbook.
Whatever you are doing - blame the other guy for doing.
Destruction of Democracy - Democrats (check)
Destruction of American Values - Democrats (check)
Dividing of Nation based on Race - Democrats (check)

    hilarity.

So because Trump has been opposed by more than half the country on every one of his fascist moves, he's not a fascist? Ok, I'll play:

[x] Single party rule>>Trump continuously rails on people voting democrat, those investigating him, those in his administration, and continues to give staunch support to GOP loyalists, both publicly and privately. Makes a public spectacle of those "switching ranks" This is hardly the behavior of someone who's supposed to represent the country as a whole.
[x] Destruction of liberal democracy>>Keeps pushing right wing talking points meant to disenfranchise American voters. Even using tax payer funds to start commissions aimed at finding 3 million non-existent illegal votes. Continuously attacks the free press and showing disdain for the 1st amendment.
[x] Mobilization under a one party state to prepare for armed conflict>>>Keeps using an us vs them rhetoric, hinting at potential armed conflict. "I've got the bikers", "maybe the 2nd amendment people can do something about that".
[x] National socialism>>>Threatens to hold up PR hurricane & California fire aid, calling them corrupt while talking nothing about Texas and Florida aid
[x ] Resolution of class conflict to unite national identity>>>Uses the white, evangelical, American middle class as the example to follow. Cracks down on anyone deviating from that format.
[x ] State controlled national economy>>>Protectionist tariff war using "national security" excuse bypassing congress. Continuously aiming at centralizing regulating powers under hand picked appointments. Crony capitalism may as well be called a state rigged national economy.
[x] Legitimizing political violence>>>"Somebody hit him, I'll take care of your court costs", those "sons of bitches" should kneel before the flag, pushes for investigations into his investigators, calls them traitors for doing their jobs, hints at handling them "as spies" like they did in the old days.
[x] Ultranationalism>>>Pardons war criminals who killed Muslims, pardons felons who violated immigrants' rights, appoints immigration advisers who have links to white nationalists groups and coordinates w/right wing tabloids to push debunked talking points about the "brown scourge". Publicly pushes aforementioned debunked tabloid talking points. Appoints an AG who pushed for the most draconian immigration policy in decades. The list is too long to post it all here...

I clicked two or three of those links, none of them have the "far left" let alone the regular left "legitimizing" or even condoning the violence in those reports.

A fair question is how coupled is the presidency to the economy in this era?

Obama presided over better growth and deficit reduction while instituting effective healthcare and educational reforms that we are still reaping economic benefits from.

Obama topped out at what 53% approval? But was re-elected with less of an electoral victory.

Trump is still presiding over a robust economy he inherited and he is at what, 43%?

Considering the partisan divide, this tells me either 1. Independents don’t credit trump with the economy or 2. The economy is now a partisan divide and a wash in politics unless it craters.

  5. Perhaps this spendingasm should be taken with a grain of salt. Total credit card debt is at all-time highs. Credit card interest rates are also at all-time highs.

Saw another story about "Gen-somethings" carrying debt loads* of $60-$100k+! How do you get out from under that kind of burden?? (Years ago as a fee-based financial planner, I cut up a few client credit cards for waaayyyy less debt balances than that!)

    Balloon seeking the pin??

    * student, auto, credit card loans... not including mortgage

  8. sorry but with automation and more and more jobs moving overseas there is no long term growth prospects for US manufacturing Jobs no matter what some politician tells you to make you feel warm and fuzzy.

No one in the grand scale is going to pay 3x more for US built when others make it cheaper. Made in the USA just means made at a higher price. We dont even make our own cars for the most part in the U.S. But foreign automakers can come in and open a plant in Alabama (Hyundai) or other places and still best us on price.
