There should only be one question for a "refugee" who entered from Mexico - that question is "Why didn't you apply for refugee status in Mexico" - after this they should be immediately deported. There is no need for a U.S. "immigration judge" or a hearing. The U.N. requirement is that they apply in the first country they reach. Case closed.

The UN Requirement \= the US Requirement. If it were, you'd have to extradite US troops whom the UN has deemed need answer for war crimes. If we can be selective with what UN requirements to pick and choose, we can certainly do so here.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_migrant

An economic migrant is someone who emigrates from one region to another to seek an improvement in living standards because the living conditions or job opportunities in the migrant's own region are not sufficient.[1][2] The United Nations uses the term migrant worker.[3] The term economic migrant is often confused with the term refugee, but economic migrants leave their country due to bad economic conditions, not due to fear of persecution on the basis of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership of a particular social group.[4] Economic migrants are free to apply for asylum and thus refugee status in the country they migrated to. However they will not be given refugee status, unless the economic situation in their home country has led to generalised violence or seriously disturbed public order.

Just want to point out that Trump first asked Mexico to pay for a wall.Than he asked Congress for 25 billion for a wall. Now he is only asking Nancy and Chuck for 5 billion for a wall.He said he was such a great negotiator though:D

BTW Nancy and Chuck wont even give him 5 billion and what kind of wall does he think he is going build for 5 billion? He must think he can stiff contractors like he does Trump organization contractors

  5. following the immigration laws are extremely important, as is the human side of immigration. all the Cons here always pumping their chest about "innocent until proven guilty" but yet they are treating and calling the folks who want to immigrate or take a refuge here as invaders, rapists, criminals, bad hombres and ...
we should treat people with dignity and respect if we really are so concerned about upholding the laws. there are always bad elements that will enter the country as part of the immigration flows, we had that with almost every group of the immigrants going as far as the 1600s. as a whole, our country is better because of its diversity and the fact that anyone can come here to pursue the American Dream. you want to fix the problem start with treating people like human beings instead of labeling them and we can go from there.

Anyone who comes here illegally IS a criminal.

  7. you are the naive one. here is the law:

Title 8 of the U.S. Code identifies federal criminal offenses pertaining to immigration and nationality, including the following two entry-related offenses:

    • “Illegal Entry”/8 U.S.C. 1325 makes it a crime to unlawfully enter the United States. It applies to migrants who do not enter with proper inspection at a port of entry, such as those who enter between ports of entry, avoid examination or inspection, or who make false statements while entering or attempting to enter. A first offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine, up to six months in prison, or both.
    • “Illegal Re-Entry”/8 U.S.C. 1326 makes it acrime to unlawfully reenter, attempt to unlawfully reenter, or to be found in the United States after having been deported, ordered removed, or denied admission. This crime is punishable as a felony with a maximum sentence of two years. Higher penalties apply if the migrant has a criminal record: up to 10 years for a migrant with misdemeanors and simple felonies, and up to 20 years for more serious crimes.
the first time entry is a misdemeanor, and yes is a crime same as drinking underage or smoking weed. Kavanaugh did it and admitted to it so is he a criminal?

  9. as usual, you missed the point, any kid who is drinking and is not 21 is committing a misdemeanor, do you walk around and call them all criminals? or anyone who is smoking weed in the states that have not legalized it yet, are they criminals?
