  1. If your living standard is below what it was 8 years ago you ought to blame yourself not the govt.

  3. So if someone got laid off from a high tech firm that was booming in 2000 or other firms, and jobs were exported overseas, so every single person should have found a job that paid just as well? Wages have not kept up with real inflation, health benefits are not the same, those who now pay their own health insurance because their employer won't, etc. Unions have been broken, auto workers and others have lost their benefits, etc.

    Katrina...oh, yeah, that thingy...

You are obviously very out of touch with much of America...

  4. Actually, it is you who are out of touch with America.

This country was not founded on socialistic principles.

But we are a generous bunch, so if things are that rough for you, and you provide your home address on the next post, I am sure a few here will send you a handout.

  5. Obviously you don't have a clue as to economics in a global economy, and a government that manipulates real inflation data, legislates to benefit corporate America over the standard of living in America...

To think the government has no impact on our economy, or impact on the nature of our globalized economy, or the reality of shrinking middle class who is being squeezed, and growing lower class as evidence by the rise in the percentages living below the poverty line, or the recessionary impact following the 2000 bubble burst, not to mention the current housing and construction industry slump, etc. demonstrates that you are living in your own little bubble with little to no exposure to reality beyond your insulated world...

Recessions happen, depressions happen, certain sectors get badly damaged during these periods...and that generally means a reduction in the standard of living for most folks...

Now if you really want to demonstrate your ignorance, try and tell the day trading industry that it is just as easy to make money tick fucking penny moves in these markets as it was in the 90's and they will tell you that you are nuts...

If something is screwed up somebody wants it that way, that is one of my assumptions in life. Somebody wants us unhappy with our freedom and prosperity, simple as that. Find out who they are, what their agenda is and beat the living shit out of just one of them, don't tell them why, just beat the crap out of one, you will never regret it. Then make them drink alcohol and pour some all over them so they smell like they are on a bender and put them in a wheelchair and wheel them onto a plane with a one way ticket to an island with no money for the flight back, that makes it even better. You will never be unhappy again, if you are, you can just think about the idiot trying to figure out how to get off the island with no cash.

  7. Why don't you also tell us that the sky is blue. You say there are recessions from time to time? Noted. Depressions too? Got it. Inflation rates fluctuate and are not always accurately represented? Check. So I guess the economy is cyclical, would that summarize what you are trying to get across? Oh yes, and govts push and pull a few levers from time to time in attempt to keep things in balance, since the porridge shouldn't be too hot nor too cold.

What other enlightening things do you have to say? When you are done with all of this, and whatever other macro and global stuff that you want to add, kindly do us a favor then and tell us what any of this has to do with what has been discussed on this thread.

When you are done with that, read this article:

    http://articles.moneycentral.msn.co...ace/TheRichHaveMoneyAndPassion.aspx?GT1=10019

"To enter the nation's top 1%, you need more than $5 million. And if you get there, you'll have plenty of newly arrived company: The number of U.S. "pentamillionaires" has quadrupled in the past 10 years, to more than 930,000.

Indeed, 70% of the nation's big family fortunes are less than 13 years old, according to The Harrison Group, a research and marketing firm. And the people who amassed those fortunes are primarily entrepreneurs -- risk takers for whom wealth is a byproduct of pursuing their passion."

Finally, you can then go and ask any of the people in that group, in the subject of that article, if they got where they are by sitting around on their asses posting on a message board whining about how unfair life and/or the govt is.

    Ztroll:
    >You are obviously very out of touch with
    >much of America...

Ways I am very *in touch* with many 'underprivileged' Americans:
    A: grew up poor
B: did not graduate from high school
    C: no inheritance
D: did time in prison for drugs
E: been layed off many times
F: had health/injury issues with no insurance

Ways I am very out of touch with much of 'underprivileged' America..."
A: no feeling of entitlement yet a desire to improve my position
    B: income and net worth.

Contrary to what the Ztroll would tell everyone, there is a direct connection between "A" and "B" in that last list.

  10. I am sure you think you are making a point...

However, you are out of touch if you think that your life experience (if accurate as posted) is necessarily the same as every other American...

However, the Turd Dick list would explain a lot as about your current deranged and out of touch psychological condition.

All that said, this exchange was, and still is absurd.
