Yep. It's not easy. It looks easy, but it's definitely not easy. It takes a lot of experiences and mistakes to time things just right. Enter in at the best risk/reward spot and exit just right. You can never exit perfectly because no one can predict the future. The best you can do is exit at the local maxima(if you are long) or exit at the local minima(if you are short). Takes a lot of patience and practice. But it can be done.
I am not one for TA..but I have just come across something that might assist with the timing you speak about..I think I will incorporate it into my setup for trading the micro ES and see if it is of any real value..too early to mention anything yet but if of any value will say so so far there is only 1 book I came across that I considered to be of any real value..I might have found a second one..only time will tell
I will not be incorporating anything new into my strategy for daytrading the MES..having spent a good few hours reading the book I have come to the conclusion that it is not of any real value..I believe my own approach is less risky per trade..which to me is the most important thing to get right I should have known.. anything of real value will never be published..why would it..being on ET can have the effect of making you think that others might know better than you..well..unless they can produce verified results..or heck..even a trade log with time stamp to check against time and sales (talking about stocks or futures trading of course)..then it really is just "the same old story" i must apologize for been a silly willy there for a moment..all part of the "re- conditioning" that is required pity people don't post their live trade logs for discussion..as there really is no better way to learn something..or nothing..maybe they do but so far no one has "caught my eye" that warrants some real attention..no insult to anyone intended..just stating what I see!!
You must know a lot more than me. I found many very educational and helpful posts on this open forum. Some completely changed the way I trade options.
it depends on what you are talking about..about trading options using volatility analysis..answer is probably no..as I decided not to take that route..about daytrading stocks and futures.. answer is probably yes as I decided to take that route if you have made progress..then odds are it is nearly all down to your hard work and experience with winners and losers..did some posts here really help you..if so then so be it..as for me..I have not seen any posts here of any real value..in fact..I have just been banned from the prop trader making $100k thread because I "questioned" the salesman..who..btw..is not a very good one most posters on this site do not even trade..to me it is as clear as day..and I have no real interest in conversing with people who are daydreamers..a real trader has no problem posting details of his trade log..why should he..this edge crap is a load of rubbish..and if anyone thinks they hold a "valuable secret" that they have picked up on a public forum..then..they really are a silly willy when I come across someone who clearly "shows" they know what they are talking about I will say so and compliment the person for their common sense and honesty..but..to be honest..I do not expect to be doing that on this site any time soon..if you think I have missed such people then by all means feel free to post some links..I am always willing to "have a look" and see if they really are good traders..or just part of the "same old story"
Typical noob talk. Got banned from a thread but "I'm ok, it's everybody else on ET who's the problem". You were fed valuable information and all you wanted to do was pick holes. Always got your hand out wanting to bludge for free information, then look the gift horse in the mouth.
you show what you know backing up a poor salesman..you are probably the first guy on the famous list who has made $58k sim trading..and he probably gave you a little discount off the purchase price..
nothing wrong with being a silly willy..as long as you know you are one problem with most here is they think they are clever..whereas..they are nothing but cannon fodder for those who make a very good living trading OPM I am looking forward to doing some trading on micro ES next month..have to set up my few screens.. probably go for 4 as I have a stand that holds 4..start real small and see how it goes..the hardest part is getting back into the right frame of mind..the setting up is just a matter of doing it..the easy bit..the mental conditioning is by far the most difficult I wonder what the commission for the MES will be..you can bet it won't be 1/10 of the ES!!!
you keep mentioning the micro ES, whats so special about it? there is already an ES with good liquidity and good margin available from some brokers, if you know what you are doing then it should not matter, should it?
