I want to get this clear. You graduated from a US licensed Med School? If so, I will defer to your opinion for now. The studies I saw you have discuss were also limited in scope and application.
Actually in the largest survey of 6200 doctors only 37% of doctors said they would consider hydroxychloroquine effective with the second place answer being "Nothing" with 32%. Not very overwhelming support. See page with Question 13 results. https://public-cdn.sermo.com/covid1...ve-i-sermo-covid-19-global-analysis-final.pdf To be fair this report is from March 25th to 27th. More recent questions and results of doctors can be found at - https://app.sermo.com/covid19-barometer?utm_campaign=wwwsermo_covid19 At this time of pandemic emergency I (and the mainstream medical community) support using hydroxychloroquine and other unproven experimental therapies to treat patients in hope that they work. In fact the approach of doctors in NY appears to be to throw everything possible in as treatment and hope for the patient to recover. However hydroxychloroquine based therapies should not be promoted & hyped as a proven "cure" - unless proper medical studies due in a few weeks indicate positive results. Let me re-post some previous information for reference - CDC quietly deletes hydroxychloroquine guidance as study hyped by Trump comes into question The publisher of a French study cited by Trump put out a statement announcing it did not meet "expected standards" https://www.salon.com/2020/04/08/cd...study-hyped-by-trump-is-called-into-question/ It should be noted that not a single follow-up study has been able to reproduce the results from the Raoult study touted by the press and politicians. Here is one example - No Evidence of Rapid Antiviral Clearance or Clinical Benefit with the Combination of Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin in Patients with Severe COVID-19 Infection https://www.sciencedirect.com/scien...K8KidhgPzw20ZkpgiE59GJa4S6-dvdguJORx6phbNyp3k
The Raoult study where the doctor proclaimed 100% success in treating patients with hydroxychloroquine while ignored the 10% of the patients in his study who died --- is a pretty serious violation of medical ethics. Well Dr. Raoult has been accused of this type of misinformation many times before in previous studies even before the COVID-19 pandemic. We should not take any of his results seriously unless other qualified studies reproduce the results.
you are avoiding directly answering the question about whether you are a graduate from a licensed Medical School in the US. How come? and I see you have joined the why not give it a try until we see the results crowd. https://app.sermo.com/covid19-barometer?utm_campaign=wwwsermo_covid19 by the way I think you had to moderate your tone bit.... look at those sermo findings... The top three treatments that doctors most reported prescribing were Azithromycin (50%), Hydroxychloroquine (44%), and bronchodilators (36%).
Since you are not a graduate of a licensed medical school then nobody should pay attention to anything that you post about COVID-19. Same standards apply to you. I post facts with medical and media sources that back up my assertions in regards to COVID-19. Something that you may want to consider doing if you want anyone to take your posts seriously. In this entire thread you have not posted a single reliable medical source or medical related article to back your claims.... just an endless ramble.
now you are getting it.. our opinions are not really worth anything unless we show the stats to back them up. even then our opinions can only be about what the stats show.
I have posted the stats, the studies, and articles backing up all of my assertions. You have not provided any medical information to support your assertions. That's the bottom line.
what do you mean? You just proved via that Sermo link that zpaks, hydoxy are the top two things doctors are prescribing. What more could you want from me on that subject? My position on that was supremely vindicated vs all the lefty trolls here. It was not only not mal practice , its what the doctors are doing. (most) And Trump's why not give a try... was far from outside the norm as much of the media and Hollywood were portraying.
As I stated multiple times in this thread (and others) - the mainstream medical community is using hydroxychloroquine based therapy on a experimental basis to treat COVID-19. Many nations are doing this. It comes down to doctors throwing everything possible into treating COVID-19 and hoping something works. Hydroxychloroquine is readily available so it is commonly used - but it should not be promoted by politicians and media pundits as a proven "cure" -- unless the results of studies in a few weeks show it is effective. However it should be noted that the results from Remdesivir, Interferon, and Plasma (from recovered patients) treatments for COVID-19 appear to be far more promising then hydroxychloroquine. India and South Korea have informed doctors to stop using hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 positive patients since the treatment has proven to not be effective. Let's hope the medical community determines the most effective treatment soon and proper medical studies support the results. Even better would be a vaccination available as soon as possible, but a vaccine is not likely to be ready for mass use before the spring of 2021.
I don’t like the odds of us having a successful reopening of the country. Nobody on this so called council has ever been on the side of working people.
