  1. Ahh that reminds me. I was reading tonight on St. P's paradox as applied to discounted cash-flow analysis. The problem, is that on an infinite time-line, profits can go infinite and your result is NaN.

You do not need an infinite timeline to figure it out.

If you are walking along the street and see 5 bux, pick it up, you have made 5 bux, but your percentage gain is infinite, because you invested no money to make the 5 bux.

Bottom line is, if you go from .01 to .05, you have made a 400 percent on the investment. If you sell at .1 on the .01 investment, that is a 1000 percent gain.

  3. No, that's a sucker-bet you dummy!

Obviously, if it were a REAL $5, someone else in the market would have picked it up already. Jesus H Christ, where the fuck did you go to learn economics?! :D

    It was a maths-based question, not a mind-tease.

It was a very simple premise.

If you walk along and see a 5 dollar bill on the ground and collect it, what is your percentage gain?

I learned those economics when I was about 8 years old, was walking to my bus stop in the morning, and saw a 5 dollar bill on the ground. I picked it up. I was then infinitely richer than I was before I left the house, on a percentage basis.

That would be 500% all together, and 500% profit since you didn't invest anything.

See we are all talking about the same exact thing. The only difference is M.W. is trying to make me look like an idiot because i'm a crypto promoter. Straight up disrespectful...

I don't know about the crypto promoter stuff.

Can you show me, in maths, how 0 to .05 = 500% gain? I think we all will be excited to see how you work this one out.

What if you started with 0.01?

    Would that be 0.01 + 5 = 5.01

    501% ?

    Or is it

    499% ?

    :D
