    been
been there, done that. Hope that I have some gift when it comes to trading. Hope that my sixth sense will point me in the right direction. Tossing the I Ching every morning before ES opens.

I'm a big believer in luck. It is the most important component of my trading.

Gambling is a different matter. It is the mental illness which tries to convince you you can "beat the system". Gambling is a very dangerous illness to a trader. I say it because you sound like you are trying to figure out a way to beat the system.

spend many years daily working hard to learn how to "respect" the system
only beginning gamblers try to "beat" the system

you can make money if you become a part of the system and luck is on your side

We are all trying to beat the system in our own ways. Don't you think? If you knew me you would laugh at the idea of me being a gambler. 90% of the time I am fanatically anti risk with my trades and only rarely do I take a gamble, but the context has to be right. You are right though about me trying to beat the system but only in terms of losing trades. I wanted to explore additional ways of keeping losers to a minimum and I came up with a thousand different alternative ideas and so far, this is the one that seems to be proving out so far. Then again, the markets have been very choppy the last several months so I am aware that if equities start trending strongly I am likely going to have to deal with regular sellers remorse.

there's enough shit out there to fight without fighting the system, let alone trying to beat it

a gambler always feels like he is the one special person who can beat the system

his misunderstanding is that somehow the system is bad, and if one wins the other must lose

the system is very fair to all traders, both large position traders and small scalpers

everyday it pays the bills for all traders who respect it, both large and small

But Lord help you if you try to beat it, the system doesn't guarantee you anything other than brief periods of profitability during the rare times of "good luck."

And I'll take those odds, because I have had my ass handed to me when I tried to "beat" the system. I didn't create the system, I think God may have been the original architect. My job is to understand, respect and eventually join the system. The system is not limited, there is plenty of money for all who respect it.

All fair points, not much to disagree with. Maybe it is trying to beat the system or maybe it's just enough screen time has allowed me to develop an instinct, pick up on subtle clues that I might not have otherwise noticed. Your warning is appreciated. If this starts to affect the P&L in a bad way I will turn it off.

no,no,no, the system is your friend and will reward you for listening and trusting your instincts, and fine tuning them to pick up those subtleties your mind is not yet developed enough to comprehend

but the system expects you to develope your mind so you no longer have to rely on your instincts like you did when you were a young man

  9. When you are silent your inner voice start talking to you. Listen to it, most of the time it directs you to the perfect path. And yes, it also happens with me, when I trade.

my inner voice is right about 50% of the time, same a coin flip

I suppose you could use your inner voice to tell you if it will come up heads or tails
