You said it man....some hilarious stuff on here. Someone trading 50k worried about position limits in Nas futures is a hoot.
So true, and set a record high music score in the state of Kentucky winning the Class A State Marching Band Championship. We were 35th at Nationals that year.
I would doubt you have been trading 20 years if you never heard of the World Cup Trading Championships. It's the world's longest running real money trading contest, but apparently I was demoing my models for them and not actually competing in the contest, otherwise I'd be 3rd right now.
Started trading in 1992 amigo. Have traded for Hedge Funds and Prop Desks my whole career. Never heard of any World Cup. Not something talked about at the types of firms I have been at. How long do they last? I would imagine it would be some kind of short term/day trading type contest. Demo/Paper trading is not the same as real trading. I have never met a paper trader who loses money
Yes. I played Baritone Sax my freshman year, then they needed a Sousaphone from sophomore year on. Lots of fun. I still have dreams about forgetting the music. I also have dreams about my reed breaking before a performance.
The World Cup Trading Championships are an annual event lasting throughout the year. It isn't short term by any stretch of the imagination. I'm sure you've heard of Larry Williams, though. The returns reported in that contest were part of the World Cup Trading Championships. Touche.

Sure....heard of him. Read some of his stuff. Good reading. Wasn't he accused of cheating when he won? Thought there was some controversy around his wins. Didn't his daughter also win one? If so not so sure about the credibility of the contest.
