it boils down to personal taste. some of us enjoy driving a ferrari, others are happy in a mazda. they both serve the same purpose and will get you to your destination. it just depends how you want to go thru life.... best, surfer
What you meant to say was, *I'm almost certain that it's early alzheimers  I have have been noticing it progressing on me also. Luckily it hasn't affected me too bad yet affected me too bad yet affected me too bad yet affected me too bad yet affected.....uh....... Now, what was it that I meant to say?
I use ONE monitor. It may just be habit, and like many ETrs here, I started trading actively well before the days of multi-monitor setups. I personally find those setups very distracting. Why? One simple reason..."The more you look at, the less you see." I use every window on my screen to enter, manage and close positions. Frankly, the way I feel is, if a window is going to flash, make a noise and divert my attention, it better be a damn good reason. If a window or program distracts me and does not contribute to my trading, I eliminate it. I don't need to have the charts expanded during the day, since I already have a vivid print of them in my memory. All of my scanning is done before hand. Try this...make a list of all the windows you need to trade. Then try and fit all of those windows on one screen. This exercise mya help you increase your focus. Give it a shot.
fwiw, I find having 6 monitors helps *tremendously* since it's important to see thumbnail charts for breakouts, market internals like: nasdaq trin compq large time and sales windows sector breakout charts etc.. http://www.dtu1.com/!!6mon.gif for example.. but to each their own, if you can trade competently with just 1 monitor, that's fine too. hey some informercials show guys in bed trading from a laptop too. Seriously, experimentation with a number of trading setups is a good overall approach, as every trader "does their own thing", we're all different, in what works for us. A "power trading rig" probably isn't needed for slower trading, swingtrades etc... for precision first-hour open range breakout scalps though, I find having a more complete picture of the market, is very helpful. my setup has changed a lot in the last year, that's an older screencap, still, hope it's helpful, thought-starter etc.. ken LXK what a mover today 7/21
Yeah, especially now that you are trading forex too, eh? I was thinking about one in the shower, one in the car, one in the bedroom...chicks dig it.
