Luck in trading is not an edge, it's just the Law of Large Numbers in action: let enough lousy traders trade and some of them will quadruple their account in just a few months with almost zero drawdown.
I believe those who spent thousand of hours watching charts seriously will find market often produce lower lows or higher highs once it breaks below or above certain technical levels. The problem for beginners is what to use and how to identify these technical levels before improving your entry and exit techniques. The rest is to build up your stats through practicing in all kind of market conditions so you can determine when to take a trade or avoid trading.
Luck is an edge. If in 2009 I developed a method based on making money in a bull market, I made money and thought my system had an edge. I have this "edge" for > 10 years and should I think I am a trading genius? Am I? No I was just lucky.
