Last year birther queen Orly Taitz stirred controversy after she claimed -- perhaps falsely -- that she had become Facebook friends with Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.).

Perhaps they never became Facebook friends, but now it certainly appears that they are at least acquaintances, as a picture of a Bachmann-Taitz rendezvous has been posted to Taitz's California Secretary of State campaign website.

"Today I spoke at a lunch with Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann," the May 14th blog post reads above a picture of the smiling duo.

Bachmann and Taitz were both featured speakers at a Tea Party Patriots luncheon on Friday. According to an email from Taitz to Talking Points Memo, the two didn't directly discuss Barack Obama's birth certificate.

"Michelle Bachmann spoke at the lunch, however she did not talk about eligibility, but rather general status of economy, politics and elections," Taitz told Talking Points Memo. "I spoke at the lunch, however I did not speak about ongoing legal actions involving Obama's use of ss number 042-68-4425, which was assigned to another individual, I also did not talk about Obama's refusal to unseal his original birth certificate, currently sealed in HI or any other issues of Obama' illegitimacy to presidency which are raised in the pleadings. I talked only about my candidacy for the position of the Secretary of State of CA."

Last week, Bachmann's Democratic challenger Tarryl Clark cut a video accusing Bachmann of spending too much time out of her district and at high-profile events in California like the ones she attended this weekend.

She's probably not complaining now, however, given that she has fresh ammunition to use against her controversial opponent.
