The funny thing about Trump criticizing McConnell for pulling ads in several states with uphill battles is that Donald Trump could easily pay to put those adds back up with his PAC. These are his selected candidates after all. *Dont go counting chickens if you’re hoping for democrats to hold onto the senate. The last 2 election cycles showed republicans consistently outperformed their polls. Many polling outlets have adjusted their weighting and methods for this cycle and it proved better in some special elections but as a general rule democrats need to be leading the polls by 2-6% to win. See below current averages in below tweet then reference 2020 polling errors…
Somewhat to Trump's point, Hershel Walker, for example has been wayyyyyyyyyy down in the polls and admittedly has limited political skills as a newcomer- but now he is behind but only by about 5 points or so. I doubt that he will win, but it might help if the RNC had actually helped him rather than written him off. And Oz is not much of a candidate but look at what he is running against for crisesake. Some Cretan who is one step away from the emergency room and always looks like he is wandering around the locker room with his hoodie and shorts and his gym bag looking for his jock strap. The RNC could actually work to help out a little. Mitch is like a democrat. He does not want to see any pro-Trump senators elected.
The RNC and whatever the republican senate committee is two different things. My guess is the internal republican polls are worse than the public polls.
Be interesting to see how fundraising goes in 2024. There are a lot of good reasons- given 2020- why voters of both parties would want to give early and often to their candidate to make sure they are off to good start, and give directly to the candidate not to the party. On the other hand, there are lots of reasons- again given 2020- that people will want to hold back until they see who the nominee is. Not that that is a new issue but seems more acute now. In the past people would support their candidate and he/she did not get nominated, well then, the slide over to supporting the one who did. But you have a pile of republicans who cannot do that Trump, and a pile of dems who cannot do that with Biden now. They will want to see who the nominee is before donating. And yes, I presume Biden will be primaried if he does not leave.
That so-called "cretin" Fetterman is up by over 18 points against Oz. https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...ndidates-this-year.364704/page-8#post-5660238
