It all depends where you're coming from and what you like to do. I live here with wife and 3 kids in Dorado area...safe, quite, close to SJ. Are you part of any of the Act 20/22 FB groups?
Thats the biggest and best FB on this kinda topic. Any issues being accepted, let me know. I'm also part of the Act 20/22 Club and Act 20/22 Society.
To your question, internet is reliable but anybody seriously trading has a backup. The electrical grid is more reliable than before Maria. When it does go down several times a month, I switch to house genset and back up internet and keep trading. Speeds are good, 100-150 Mbps through cable. If you have fiber, even better. You can pay to get even more speed if you need it.
Palmas and Dorado are both nice. Dorado Beach is the nicest area to live depending on your budget. Dorado has nice private school, great little town and everything you need. Closest to a city in the states you'll find. Things like Attorney's/CPA's in SJ is 35 minute drive. Palmas is a little further but has a better boating community if thats your thing and the community is nice. The town close by isn't as nice as Dorado but the community of Palmas is very nice. Visit both.
