I'm Looking for a book and or video that has an in depth discussion on margin requirements for stocks and derivitives. I don't have a handle on how to calculate margin and would like gain a better understanding on the technical rules.
I think it is probably more important to have a clear understanding of your brokers policies than what is legal - unless you are writing a paper or just want to understand. Even if your broker uses different (legal) guidelines, than what is allowed, you will have to deal with your broker's rules. Your broker should be able to provide you with the information you need.
