Long term you can always pick up quality NA banks or giants in IT on stock price weakness. Only firms with growth, good balance sheets, decent market share, and profits. Cyclicals like energy and mining can be very lucrative if you understand the cycle. There are speculative areas in things like copper/lithium/rare earth metals mining, renewable energy that could be good but hard to pick out which firms will be the winners when the inevitable shortages occur. Also they can be traps on early rallies before the companies are proven profitable.
