Looking for Listing of Stocks & Symbols

Discussion in 'Trading' started by Flashboy, Aug 5, 2003.

  1. I'm looking into stocks..

Is there somewhere (website or other) that would show all stocks traded by exchange or by sector..

which would show the symbol, company name, exchange traded.. and maybe what sector they are in..

I know I can find the most active issues in my newspaper on a daily basis.. would that be the best thing to look at??

I'm being lazy here.. wondering if someone can point me in the best direction..

    thanks for any help

quicken.com is good, you put in the ticker and click compare to industry. it will give you all the stocks in that sector.

  5. i believe that nyse.com and amex.com have similar analysis tools from their sites...

most EOD charting software, e.g. neoticker, will also come installed with pre-filled sector lists...

  6. http://www.multexinvestor.com/nscreen/builder.asp

You might have to do a free registration with Multex before you can use it. The results are not limited like MSN (200). If you want you can download the 8963 active US companies into a spreadsheet.

You should read the directions to get the most out of this screener.
