Spectre2007 i hear you mate and agree about the quality i'll get but it's a start up i'm looking to launch and don't want to spend too much before i raise money for that. looking to have a sort of alpha version and then looking for investment to continue development.
I refer you to this thread: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/thre...in-china-8-400-in-india-90-000-in-u-s.308600/
If this is a business start-up situation you might consider finding a biz partner who is a software designer. Even when the software is "done" you'll still need someone to maintain the software and add features. Going out to the software marketplace every time you need a change/fix is very risky. It's especially risky if something critical breaks and stops your business from continuing to operate.
I am a software engineer myself but it's been years since i've put my fingers on coding and i hate it to be honest. since i've been exposed to the stock market i don't want to code anymore
IB is java based and you want C++ ?. Anything can be prototyped in EXCEL/ACCESS, and Visual Basic, and then later translated to Java or C++... Just an idea. If you don't need ultimate speed, the EXCEL/ACCESS/VB should do. Good luck.
IB support C#, C++ too and i couldn't care less whats IB is made of. i'm more familier with C and wants it in C# as i'll probably will build asp.net website
it's not $299, it will be a lot more, it's only phase one from a lot to come, just not willing to throw it on the first programer i'll find without even know him. but hey, being cynical like you is the best start up for sure
IB is Java, their native gateway API is java. I can imagine doing something in this direction, 80 euro per hour, 6 months full-time ongoing project minimum. for 300$ you won't find anybody real
