I had a pretty good laugh reading this thread, but it should have been moved to the humour section a few pages back.
Are you not spydertrader ? One of old ETmembers in 2009 ... the one who was a hedge fund manager back then and I think spydertrder was latin who speaks fluent spanish as welll...its just that all those who are defending you are the ones who were around Jack Heysey's threads and spydertrder was close to Jack as well. After checking some of spydertrders old threads, the writing style is somewhat similar too...maybe I am wrong...
One doesn't have to look further than how this thread itself has developed to see why one would want to keep this out of a public journal. In addition to that, the observations by @Handle123 certainly support not doing a mentorship in public: As I said, what the OP proposes strikes me as very similar to the process I followed myself. Whereas I was able to do the work, make and note my observations, develop and test hypotheses on my own without having someone over my shoulder to keep me at it, it would seem many, perhaps most never even start the correct process, much less stick to it long enough to endure and come up with a viable trading plan. Seems as though the OP is offering to be that "over the shoulder" reminder of what needs to get done. Is he qualified? Who knows? Who cares? If you are one of the many ET'ers who has been spinning wheels and losing for years, what do you have to lose by giving it a try? At least he's not asking for a monthly paypal contribution or selling a $250/month trade call subscription.
"Plus I only said he was acting like a asswipe not that he was an asswipe.. Big difference there." you are right. i've made that distinguishment myself many time between using the word acting and the word is.
Lol.. You guys its all in fun. Try not to stress over meaningless things. We are just a speck in a vast ocean called the Cosmos. Reference anything in your life to that. A gamma ray burst aimed at our lil blue planet could snuff us out any second.
Then why the new nick? He doesn't need to conduct the mentorship in public, but if he is truly altruistic he could be a bit more transparent... Life as in trading is all about perception... you may see it as a noble gesture, others (myself) see it as a possible exploit... And yes those of us who have developed a niche for ourselves did it primarily through hardwork, study and a little bit of luck. The inexperienced, naive and wide eye dreamers are ripe to be exploited. I despise scam's, snake oil ... so yes I am skeptical when a one post wonder offers to mentor the masses, as opposed to interacting with someone online or in real life and offering a bit of help... Hurry and PM me quick because I can only help so many people at once, and it is first come, first served... sure reeks of exploit...
I couldn't begin to imagine whom you are referring to, of course, but I do note that marketsurfer is unusually supportive and defensive of the OP's enterprise.
You are being malicious. There is no marketing taking place. Having been in a private thread setup by J_S, there was no request by J_S for a fee. The purpose of communicating within a private thread is to exclude undesirable people like yourself.
The person is clearly a multi alias stealth vendor looking to "teach" --- they never ask for $ upfront, but the request will come eventually after you are 100% sold. surf
