It's been like that on every forum for as long as I can remember. Inevitably you are going to get a few jackasses in the millions that log on everyday who want to go around throwing insults and tormenting people whenever they can. Because it has simply gotten so easy to use the internet now you are even of course going to get the brainless morons coming on and trying to ruin someones day. You don't notice it in RL because you can avoid people like that easier or people are in closer circles.
I've been posting my P/L blotter over on www.traderslaboratory.com for about 1 month now. I've been contemplating doing so on ET as well. I suppose I'll start Monday. Jason
No, it's not, so I've been surprised by how much excellent detailed strategic information is shared here, and that includes some real gems from Jack, regardless of what he owns, what he owes, what kind of house he lives in, how he did in a paper trading contest, or whether he dances with llamas. As for vichychoisse, I see Jack has planted potatoes into your head as well as mine.
Remember your Verdi? "La donna est mobile?" Tell me one single thing Jack ever said about trading that is true. Then I will match it with another. Let ET be the judge. It will be a short contest.
Hey SappJ . . . How's the thread coming? Ask a question and you get everything but what you wanted, eh? Continued luck . . . if you've done what you've claimed, then the only reason you haven't found any takers is because there's only about 5 or 6 people on here that make any money consistently with an edge. Only half of them could probably automate their strategy. And less than half of those remaining will not trust you enough to start any due diligence. Good luck finding that one remaining person! But seriously, if you've really been lurking for several years now, then you know who they are . . . why not reach out to them directly? Keep trading. J. Scott
Hey J.Scott, I replied to you privately, but to answer your question publicly------I'm honestly not sure yet. I've received several inquiries and proposals. Now, it's just a matter or wading through everything and trying to figure out what to do. Like I said in my initial post, I'm not looking for some "paid for service" that sends me signals. I think I'm looking for a mentor that can guide me to another profitable methodology and as I've already stated, I'm willing to pay (or partner with that person). I realize that this may not appeal to some people, but I wanted to just put myself out there and ask. Jason
"Anther thing that is important in a trend is knowing that a trend has three moves. As important as anything is always knowing where you are in market cycles on any fractal level. A person who knows how fractals nest also has an advantage." Extracted from a very informative set of posts starting with the 02-23-10 11:17 AM post (sadly you have to weed through all the useless responses from others): http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=191742&perpage=10&pagenumber=10 Nested fractals is one of the gems that moved me to a new level in trading. Coincidentally, another trader here shared very similar information with me in a different way. I look for information that improves my trading. If the information helps me become a more profitable trader, why should I care whom or what the author/educator owns, owes, eats, prays to, or has sex with? Why should I even care if the author/educator can personally trade or has ever traded? I've read in more than one trading book of people who can analyze and predict market movement with uncanny precision, but fail as traders. The psychology of trading is a whole different matter. I have gotten a wealth of information from bighog, Al Brooks, Alan Farley, Jack Hershey, and Redneck Trader. I know little or nothing about their personal lives or how much money they have. I have no way of knowing if they actually trade or not (live or simulated), because I've never witnessed any of them trade, or call a trade in real-time, or post a trading blotter, or even post a screen shot of their P/L. But the information they've provided has been very valuable to me and I doubt I'd be able to produce profits on a consistent basis so early in my day trading career without them. P.S. - I'm getting very attached to the name Tonbo.
Please elaborate on whom Jack conned, how he conned them, and what the cost was to the persons conned. Oh, and why would other traders be horrified and/or embarrassed by another trader's clothing?
Since you know for a fact that every newb that comes into this site and believes his ludicrous ravings loses money, can you get any of them to post in this thread specifically how Jack caused them to lose money?
