I'm looking at Dell Ultrasharps, thinking of 3x 27", but they cost so much more than the 24" monitors that I am hesitating. I originally had in mind 4x 24" on an ergotron stand, then thought the 3x 27" arranged in a curve using the original stands would be nice. Unfortunately they cost a lot. Have you figured out how you will arrange them?

I really like the refurbished computer I got (HP Z4000 Workstation) for a total of $844. The processor sells for $600 (Intel Xeon Processor W3680 3.33 GHz, 12MB cache, 1333 memory, 6.4 GT/s QPI, Six-Core, HT, Turbo) and the video card sells for $400 (Quadro NVS 450). However, like I said it did not come with a SSD. A lot of people here were insisting I get a SSD. Now I'm interested. If I were to purchase an SSD how would this do? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147188 I don't think I'll need more than 120 GB and if I take any video I think I can just put it in the HDD.
you will not go wrong with any of this... I have both.... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227915 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147192
I would recommend sticking with the Intel series. 520's are nice. Good performance and reliable. I never had good luck with OCZ products.
they are all MLC... SLC is way more $$$ ... this article will explain better... http://www.tomsguide.com/us/ssd-value-performance,review-1455.html http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013/03/18/supersspeed_s301_hyper_gold_128gb_slc_ssd_review/1 http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/my...ch-supersspeed-sata-iii-6g-slc-sandforce-ssd/
perf is relevant and dependent on your trans size (from app perspective) .. i've used all three.. intel can have issues too.. i keep mine for 3 years mostly...
That's true. I've just had bad luck with OCZ products, that's all. My Intel 320's and 520's are going strong. YMMV.
