And equally obvious laid off peeps collect severance including accumulated sick and vacation pay, then unemployment benefits. As well as some having to be rehired when "they" realize government work is not Twitt errrr - make that - X work causing massive losses and revaluation by more than 2/3rds. Jeniuuus.

I particularly like furloughing IRS temps with April 15th rapidly approaching. Nothing like trying to cut debt by reducing revenue collection.

The gang that couldn't shot count straight.

Hey but maybe you qualify for that group?

a guaranteed way to get hired is to prove your worth to the company prior to being hired. if i wanted a job thats what i did and it will always work.

i needed a rental once and as a self employed person of course for tax purposes i make no money - i have no income. how do you qualify? i can pay you cash 1 year in advance - sir when do you want to move in? lol

need a job, give them a reason to hire you - make sure first, you want to work there.

Ok, you sold me... so what's your solution, MMT? Have the government continuously hire anyone out of a job for the rest of eternity without any layoffs ever? I'm trying to be reasonable. Sometimes you have to trim headcount. It's absolutely naive to think otherwise.

What you refuse to accept is that some people lag and can't do their jobs adequately. Isn't that right?

So what is government work exactly? Something akin to Godliness? Lol... you're a live one alright.

  5. This is part of why I did a lot of contract work instead of salary when I was still engineering. There was always a real project in front of us that needed instant progress and no mistakes. The dross of full timers sitting around scheduling meetingz was not a part of our day to day. And the money was better. :)

Worst job I ever had in regards to sitting around all day was Boeing. I literally walked the floor all night (second shift) and my big highlight from that job was I got to witness a very minor robot malfunction late one night, and report it in the shift turnover report, so they could find the error in the toolpath.

And I guess I hit a ... live nerve of yours.

Why do you care so much about gubmint jobs cuts. Unless you are in the top 0.1% of the wealthy, tax cuts are really ephemeral.

this is the plan. Fire everyone publicly (we reduced waste) and quietly hire a replacement deep state loyal to Trump at all levels.

Not really. I am surprised by how obscenely simple your world view is though.

Not necessarily. But "survival of the fittest" and "natural selection" seem to explain a lot.

I'm more interested in a good reason as to why cutting government programs and/or employees is so unthinkable.

I thought @SunTrader might elaborate on this. But, I don't think it's the idea of trimming waste that he/she/they disagree with, rather than the person doing it. Typical ad hominem thinking.

Oh well. My bad for expecting more
