I had a neighbor who now works for EA. He does illustrations for some of their most popular games. Dude makes $250-$300K and is basically living hand to mouth in SV. $250K is woefully inadequate.
I just wonder how many of them are happy with their current lifes ? California went down the drain with so much difference between poor and rich and he earns much more above average of their salaries and still not that much.... By the way it's very high salary and usually not advertised. From street much I heard was like $180K per year. He must be something unique. They can try to fire themselfs and try to live somewhere cheaper with ability to earn with their skills.
