@killthesunshine, all monitors are backlit, but I happen to need one that is LED backlit. That asus model will not do. @tradefreak, that model has only 1080 instead of 1200 vertical lines and it's not LED backlit

Any LCD monitor has a backlight. It works on the same principle as movie projector. There is white light; and the film contains colours of different brightness or totally blocks the light to produce shades of black. In an LCD monitor backlight is the source of light and liquid cristall filters this light to produce colours. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquid_crystal_display The opening post asks about an LCD monitor with specifically LED (not just any) backlight.

I will... because I have been using a 1920x1200 monitor for years. But then for the price of a 1920x1200 monitor you can get two 1920x1080 monitors, which are as good for office purposes (who cares about perfect colour reproduction or deep black if you read black text on white background all day long?)
