For around $500. You would think this would be pretty easy to find. But no. So far no luck!
ASUS VW266H Black 25.5" 2ms(GTG) HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 1000:1 (ASCR 20000:1) Built in Speakers w/ component connector 1920 x 1200

dell has 23 ips panel dell u2311h for 299 google 20% off from small biz coupon, i got 2 last night for 517 out the door with tax
@killthesunshine, all monitors are backlit, but I happen to need one that is LED backlit. That asus model will not do.
@tradefreak, that model has only 1080 instead of 1200 vertical lines and it's not LED backlit
Here is the only one I've found, but it's made by apple so I'm not sure how well it would work on a PC and it costs a lot more than the alternatives(if there are any alternatives) should cost.
Its LED but res is 1920x1080...
Sorry but looks like you won't find one with 1920x1200 yet for 500. Cheapest one is that Mac one you found. Do you need it for gaming or something?
Please excuse my lack of hardware knowledge, but what is a monitor with a backlight?
Any LCD monitor has a backlight. It works on the same principle as movie projector. There is white light; and the film contains colours of different brightness or totally blocks the light to produce shades of black. In an LCD monitor backlight is the source of light and liquid cristall filters this light to produce colours.
The opening post asks about an LCD monitor with specifically LED (not just any) backlight.
1920x1200 ...or 1920x1080..will you notice the difference?
I will... because I have been using a 1920x1200 monitor for years.
But then for the price of a 1920x1200 monitor you can get two 1920x1080 monitors, which are as good for office purposes (who cares about perfect colour reproduction or deep black if you read black text on white background all day long?)
