Same question goes to you. I only see you jumping into threads that have nothing to do with you so you can add some personal attacks. Is that not the definition of a troll?
Very odd post. I never "attack" anyone -- just point out the facts as I see them. I do what I can to add insight to every thread.
Baron should create a special section of this site...something like a Hall of Fame section...for members/traders who have generated huge/big profits per trade and/or consistent returns. Complete with their photo, name, and exact specific details of the trade. Maybe even broker statements a requirement as well. Make being Elite Great Again Has to be noteworthy only, or unique. Not average or moderate market performance. There's an old thread about P/L from the early/mid 2000's about some traders who have made large profits -- it would be nice to have a Hall of Fame thread dedicated to them, showcasing them, and the details. Kind of like High School and College gymnasiums having championship sports banners hanging.
It was noted in that old P/L thread that most posting brokerage statements were fake including a few moderators that posted brokerage statements on some trading days. Other P/L threads were later started and there were less trolling but only after many stopped posting brokerage statements and only just posted a text message that stated how much they profit or loss for the day. The only traders that some said were real...they were the ones that someone showed up to say they actually worked with the guy in some trading office and can vouch that he was real although no images of an office were shown. I remember those 10k - 100k daily posts...most of them were "stock traders". Oddly, when "text messages" were only posted about daily profits/losses...it seemed to create less debates as long as trades were posted in real-time. Soon after that a few started complaining about ET's clock. Also, I thought it was one of the listed "Hall of Fame" threads...not sure.
I wondered about this as well and posted a brief comment to this effect earlier this week. I've been away for 4-5 years and now, the level of participation is far lower than back then. What, no ribbons or trophies being given away anymore for participation??
Unfortunately, some believe that the odd timers either blew up their accounts or moved on to other interests as if they're no longer trading. This belief seems to be more contagious about those that have been trolled...as if to make those feel better about having allowed the trolling. In fact, Baron or a moderator would chime into the conversation with the same contagious beliefs...the person must have blown up and then within a few days a few weeks...that person show up to same everything is OK or they explain why they had been gone for so long. Yet, as some noted about why the old timers left including my own opinions...most left this site because they got tired of this place. Others left ET because they actually retired from trading considering back then some already were in/near their retirement years. Then there were those that got tired of being trolled, they got tired of complaining or felt like the forum had aligned itself with a few specific trolls while few actually blew up. Heck, even some of the notorious trolls left this site and are now actively posting at other social media locations while Baron or the moderators do not make the same contagious comments about those trolls...that the troll must have blown up. Heck, Baron has a few times chimed in to say specifically that the person (the troll) had left the site and wanted their thread close...nothing about the possibility that the troll may have blown up or moved on to other interests. I strongly believe that's why people like dratsum believes the forum had aligned itself with those trolls or worked (clandestine) with those trolls because the trolls are not discredit upon leaving the forum whereas some of the long time members are discredit soon after departure. Its very simple...nothing complicated. Members that left this place have moved on to other social media sites to continue posting. Some died or became so ill...the latter felt it wasn't worth putting their health at risk because of the stress associated with hanging out online at trader forums. Then there's a small percentage that only post in private threads here at ET...rarely or not at all do they participate in the public area of ET. A few of my favorite old timers that were active members and suddenly disappeared from this forum...they died and I only knew such because I got to know them personally outside of ET.
