Look how XOM is struggling with the 50 dma

    It went through on the upside today only to pull right back to it. You need to be very quick with these trades and not stay in these set ups too long.
    OXY is acting better ( as of now ).

    I like CLR. not sure it has much left in it for a day trade today..

    What's so special about the number 50? Why not 49 or 53? The lag in a simple moving average, or any finite impulse response (FIR) filter is (n-1)/2. In your example, (50-1)/2 or 24.5 days of lag.

    You can do better than that, but you need to read up on lowpass filters and how to design them. Don't let the math intimidate you and learn something new, and potentially profitable for you.

    As traders, we see things differently. It obviously works for me. Also, there is an “ x factor” that some traders have that separates them from the pack. They see things most others dont. I think I am one of those.
