I do own shares of MIR. I was assigned over 5000 shares and have written puts for another 5000 at 7.5. I read McMillan's "Options as a Strategic Investment" and "McMillan on Options" as primers. I personally would not recommend anyone's style...not even my own to you or anyone else. I would suggest getting a good understanding of options and determining whether you wish to use to use fundamentals or not, then form your own strategy. You really need a style that fits your personality. My partner and I are often at odds over certain issues and sometimes trade the opposite sides of positions (in separate accounts). He has a completely different style yet we both make excellent percentage returns consistently. I'll never tell anyone their style won't work...and many tell me that mine doesn't work. I won't argue with anyone about it. I still believe this is the greatest game in the world.
