Just curious to see the percentage of trades made both long and short by stock traders here on ET. Thanks.

  2. i always (ALWAYS) hold @ least 25% of my overnight trades in stocks as shorts

i daytrade almost exclusively in futures (index) and probably work out to be about 50/50 long/short. i just trade wherer the market tells me to. no bias either way

  3. Long 90% of the time here, on swing trades. Could not find a stastical edge with shorting yet on a 2 days - 5 days basis. Of course, this is only when the S&P is above its 200 days moving average.

  4. Assuming Buy & Sell from the Futures world applies as well, I'd say I short 60%+
